| Saturday 08.28.04 -- MMPR White Ranger: "Finally cut that hair, huh Tommy?" |

12:55AM I'm listening to that Katy Rose CD right now. Just awesome. :)
6:18AM After saying he would never return to his New Jersey "trilogy", Kevin Smith is now planning to make a sequel to Clerks. Wow. O_O I hope he changes that title though. Eek.
8:02AM (Dino Thunder spoiler warning) Whoa. I actually enjoyed today's Best of Turbo more than I thought I would. Then Power Rangers Dino Thunder expanded on that enjoyment by 34654523. >_> In "Fighting Spirit" (this might not be in perfect episode order, but still..), Hayley has figured out a way to return Tommy to his old visible self.. but needs a power source for the device. Tommy gives her his Dino Gem to power it, and even though they don't think it's a very good idea, they do it anyway. Something goes wrong and Tommy is turned visible.. but now he's in a deep coma and his Dino Gem is now in pieces. Meanwhile, Elsa digs with some drilling device until they find what they've came for: a white crystal that's made of the same stuff as the ranger's Dino Gems. She powers up the previously-defeated Terrorsaurus with this new-found power source. Hayley and the rangers get Tommy to Reefside Hospital but the doctor assigned finds he can do nothing for him. Then they see Terrorsaurus attacking on the news and the rangers go to battle. Meanwhile, inside Tommy's mind, he comes across one of his old selves, Zeo Ranger V (Red). Tommy discovers he can't morph into Black. They battle in a desert setting (until Red Zeo departs) while the rangers battle their previous foe once again. But then Terrorsaurus fries all of their powers (causing them all to demorph) and leaves. That's when Cassidy and Devin arrive. They were sent by that news guy to get some ranger footage during the battle (..without any cameras). The rangers hide their morphers as the duo approach. Cassidy inquires about their battered state, then is told that the rangers never came to help. Back inside Tommy's mind, he's now in a barren forest setting. He says he's not in Reefside anymore, and a voice replies that he's not in Angel Grove either. The White Ranger appears before Tommy and another battle ensues. While the rangers have returned to his bedside. The news soon reports though that Terrorsaurus is attacking once again. The powerless rangers take off to meet up with him. Cassidy is told she has the lead story on today's news broadcast.. a story about the rangers abandoning the city. Cassidy decided to take up the offer, while Devin says he's not going along with this. After a while, the White Ranger departs as well.. then Tommy is transported to a greener forest setting. Here he sees the Green Ranger (the helmet seems to look a bit different though). Yet another exciting battle ensues (featuring a new version of the classic Dragon Dagger tune). Cassidy does her news report.. then switches it around to say that she doubts the rangers would just abandon the city, Devin is pleased, but that news guy isn't. The rangers meet up with Terrorsaurus and get their powerless asses handed to them. :/ The three past ranger forms of Tommy appear together and tell him that he has been battling to live this whole time, has passed the test, and hand him his three Dino Gem pieces. He soon awakens in the hospital, then joins the rangers in battle. He destroys Terrorsaurus all by himself (well, with the help of his new Super Dino Mode). This releases the white crystal, which breaks and gives the other rangers their power back. Just when I thought we'd go one episode without a zord battle, Terrorsaurus is resurrected in huge form and the core three rangers bust out their zords for a near-useless 1-minute battle (going Super Dino in the cockpit was neato). Back at HQ, the rangers hear the story of what happened to Tommy and they react quite like how the fans are probably reacting to this episode on RangerBoard as write this (haha). The rangers comment that they're glad that he's back... even though he technically never went anywhere. :p What an awesome episode! I officially thank Doug Sloan and the writers for making up for the less-than-awesome episodes we have gotten as of late. Maybe they we focusing on making this one perfect while abandoning the others? *shrug* I just wish this one had a chance of coming out on DVD.. :( Next week (er, week from tomorrow): Conner whines once again over if he's cut out to be a ranger.. then forgets all about that when he gets a new toy: the Triassic battlizer. What a baby.. Oh, and he uses it to battle a resurrected Zeltrax.. :p
Also, today is Power Rangers' eleventh anniversary. The very first episode, "Day Of The Dumpster", aired on this date in 1993. Happy birthday! And what a way to celebrate... ;)
1:01PM Following PRDT, I watched that three-part Radio Free Roscoe finale that I DVRed. Now I remember how great those episodes were. Then, I got online for a little. After that, I finally watched / taped the final two episodes of Vandread that I DVRed last night. WOW. Now that was a finale. Action, adventure, heroic speeches.. and even a little comedy. I am so buying this series on DVD.. some day. :)
Also, Doug Sloan has posted a message on RangerBoard concerning the endlessly good reception for this morning's new Dino Thunder episode. He hints that PR veteran, and writer of the episode, Jackie Marchand is sticking around for S.P.D.. And he notes that the upcoming two-part Ninja Storm / Dino Thunder team-up arriving in October is "absolutely insane!" lol :)
2:07PM *sigh* Boredom. I'm surprised it took this long to set in.. I'm waiting to watch this documentary premiering on the Sundance Channel in about an hour. I guess I'll watch it in my room. With the small screen. And no comfortable places to sit. -_- ..damn, this Mt Dew Pitch Black rocks.. Can't wait for tonight. My dad will be watching NASCAR and football.. at the same time. I'll be double the bored. :(
*rolls eyes @ how RangerBoard has become so.. censored* Funaro: "Ray justifies RB as a gestapo state by saying it makes the actors happy. Um, Emma told him she wants flaming RB back. Chan and Sally haven't REGULARLY posted since the treaty. Doug flames INCESSANTLY, which is FUNNY. He sold out. He FUCKING SOLD OUT." So true... :( Funaro: "Oh, and guys? I don't think Sal came back for real. And I'll tell you why. Check her member status. There's no 'previous time online.' Just offline. Sally joined before 'last time online' was a feature... But if she'd logged in recently, it WOULD activate. I think it was Ray or somebody saying goodbye 'for' her." Interesting...
4:08PM I'm not watching most of The President vs. David Hicks. I laughed at that part where they questioned that army guy from Guantanamo Bay about if these people will get justice in court, and he replied with some bullshit line that had barely anything to do with what was asked. Then, he said the exact same thing later in the film, when asked about prisoners not being able to have contact with family members and lawyers! I do commend him for memorizing so well the bullshit lines they give him to say though *rolls eyes*.. I think I'll be more interested in seeing Uncovered: The Whole Truth About The Iraq War on Sundance next month..
9:56PM Damn. I didn't expect to sleep that long. I was bored, so I thought I could sit down on the couch and sleep for maybe an hour or two.. But then I slept for over four hours. Heh... This guy in #power-rangers is getting really annoying. I asked him to send one of the rare Mighty RAW tracks (the fservs with them are locked from me because of some firewall crap). He says no, and soon adds a rule to his ad pretty much saying "don't do what I did". Then, an op asks for them, and he sends every single one. I understand the op superiority crap, but still... :| ..To anyone that has "Silver Ranger" and/or "Zords (Instrumental)" by The Mighty RAW: pleeease send them to me. I'd reeeally appreciate it. *sighs* *falls to pieces*
11:26PM *sigh* Today wasn't that bad.. I guess. Tomorrow will most likely be even worse.. See ya.
