the no news strikes back / media / today [Dec. 31st, 2009|11:59 pm]

[Current Mood | good]
[Current Music |Counting Crows - A Long December | 4:58]

I awoke at like 2AM to finish up the previous entry, then went to sleep again. And then I woke up again at about 5 or 6AM to my dad being awake and watching his news.. And then I fell asleep again until my dad woke me up at 8:30AM. I got online for a little bit, then we soon got ready and went out to media buy.

But first, I headed to the bank and took out some funds to pay the cable bill ($140/month).. Then we headed on to Target, where I got my new cell phone. Yay. It's the new $20 Verizon Wireless prepaid phone from Samsung. My previous one from Virgin Mobile (also $20) didn't have all the cool features like this one does, including a camera. Heehee. Gonna have some fun on Twitter with this methinks.. I passed on The Hangover Blu-ray at Target because they had no remaining copies with slipcover and Digital Copy.

So I headed to Best Buy.. where they also didn't have any copies with those features. Damnit. Only the first pressing had them. I went ahead and price-matched it down to Target's $17 anyway, then also picked up Jennifer's Body on Blu (and oh man, I would do so much to that body.. *drools*) and Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles: Season 2 on DVD. I got one of the last two copies of it with the Limited Edition steel slipcase, then it rang up for $44.99 at the register.. so I had to wait in the long returns line at Costumer Service to get over half my money back, down to Best Buy's $19.99 sale price this week. Luckily, it worked. :)

I moved on to Speedway and got in on their new Dew Club (under Speedy Rewards, buy six 20oz of any flavor Mtn Dew -- doesn't have to be all at once -- and get one free :p ). Our next stop was the grocery store, where we both bought.. some groceries. I got caught shoplifting though.. damnit. Gotta be more careful next time. :/ ..We returned home and I set up my new phone, moving all my numbers from old to new and resetting up Twitter with it. I got quite an easy phone number to remember too. An abundance of 0's, 1's & 4's. :p I also inventoried the new discs..

It didn't take very long after the mail arrived though for me to have head out again., This time, we went all the way down to the hospital for another leg rewrapping. At least this session was more pleasant. :) Cut off wrappings, clean, rewrap, complete. You know the deal.. We returned home and I ordered pizza for supper from Pizza Hut. ANY pizza for just $10 -- just had to get in on that. And it tasted just like the Pizza Hut I remembered having years and years ago and wanted to have again (*greasy Meat Lovers'!*). Awesome! ... *heart attacks*

Anyway.. after that, I got online to news-gather etc etc etc.. In primetime.. of course, nothing to watch on TV. So we watched The Hangover: Unrated instead. It was pretty funny.. but perhaps my expectations were still a bit too high.. My dad liked it I guess, though he fell asleep for part of it.. After it was over, we started watching all the New Years' Eve shows on TV. My dad was surprised to see Shania Twain on FOX..

Not too long after midnight, my dad sort of nodded off to sleep.. so I got the PS3 online and checked out PlayStation Home's New Years' festivities. I soon found out that you can see the Central Plaza ball drop by just changing your PS3 clock to just before midnight before turning on Home. So the ball dropped, played Auld Lang Syne, then gave me a free virtual hat and shirt. Cool. Unfortunately, the male version of the shirt is broken. Hope they fix that. I glitched onto the platform under the ball and had some fun there until nearly 4AM. For details, check out the 40 new images dumped in my photobucket. lol, I'm a stripper (both female and male.. but mostly female.. because it's funner to stare at).. *denies friend request after friend request from idiot guys* :p

My dad eventually woke up at 3AM and headed to bed. Then I shut off the PS3 by 4AM and returned to my room for the night... See ya. And Happy New Year! :)

[Current Mood | content]

I awoke at about 4AM or so and got online to finish up that previous entry.. for a few hours.. And then I fell asleep for a few more hours. My dad woke me up at 9:30, we got ready and then headed out to media buy.

First, I headed to Best Buy and picked up District 9 on Blu-ray -- the $30 Best Buy Exclusive Collector's Set that includes MNU Bulletproof Vest slipcover and Production Notes booklet. It looks awesome. :) Oh, and I also got Family Guy Presents: Something Something Something Dark Side on DVD.. of course. I passed on getting it on Blu because I have the whole series on DVD and the series isn't yet produced in HD and widescreen.. so what's the point? :p Plus I price-matched Best Buy's $14.99 price on it down to Frys' $9.95. Sweet.. Oh, and I ordered the Kyle XY: Season 3 DVD on Amazon since I had a $20 gift certificate from an online survey that I did. Only paid $7 for it then. :)

We headed to the grocery store after that and we each got some more groceries. My dad has almost run out of money for the month.. and there's still a week left. :( ..We returned home and I got online to inventory the new discs. Soon, I watched four more episodes of Naruto Uncut: Season 1 Vol 1 (very good episodes.. nice to see them uncut for the first time ever.. only watched them on CN before now) before checking out PlayStation Home again (neon Home logo looks cooool). I then played a little.. LittleBigPlanet (waiting for the Pirates levels to be released.. c'mon damnit.. oh look, levels with actual water already, probably from EU PSN) before supper. I waited until 7PM for those levels to show up.. before finally giving up..

I got online to news-gather... In primetime, I decided to watch District 9. I just couldn't wait any more hours to see this after waiting since early this year to see it. Great film. I really liked it. My dad lost interest in it pretty quick and kept repeating that "that would never happen" for some reason. *rolls eyes* The Blu-ray has two versions of the menu: Human & Alien. And the interactive map feature looks a lot like an archive of the D-9 website. Cooool. But tiny text that I can't read on my big-screen? Not so much. :p ..I only had enough time for Better Off Ted afterward (lol.. Khandi Alexander as his mom? .. Really? :p) before the news started and I returned to my room for the night.

See ya.

littlebigplanet pirates dlc date / media / today [Dec. 15th, 2009|11:59 pm]

[Current Mood | good]

LittleBigPlanet's Pirates Of The Caribbean DLC has been officially announced for PlayStation Network release on December 22nd, including a Costume Pack and Level Kit for $5.99 each. Awesome. lol @ the Barbossa costume.. Too Bad I probably won't be able to afford it until next month though. I have three disc releases I want to get next week and I may or may not even be able to afford all those. *crosses fingers* Definitely getting these new levels ASAP though. :)

I awoke early in the morning, finished up the previous entry, then saw some morning news (blah). But soon, it was time to get ready and head out to.. my leg wrapping hospital appointment. Thought I was going to say "media buy", didn't ya? Another cute female today. They cut off the old wrappings, clean up my leg and remove any loose excess skin, then wrap me back up again. They're saying that my legs are really improving. But I was only given 14 days of antibiotic for them.. and I ran out after Sunday. I'm sorta glad. They may have been giving me a rather troubling case of constipation...

After the wrapping appointment was complete, I headed to Kmart and returned one of my pairs of pants. They were too small. Damn.. I moved on to Best Buy and picked up Robot Chicken: Season 4 on DVD. At the last minute, I had considered The Hangover.. but changed my mind when I saw the $20 price on the Blu. Thought it would be $15. So I wasted my dad's time and headed to Target since I thought it was $15 there. Nope, $20 there too. Oh well..

Next, we went to the grocery store and we each bought.. groceries.. Pepsi, Dr Pepper & Mt Dew Throwback appear to be back in stores in the form of 20oz bottles. Yay. I got a few. They were higher (each) than how much I paid for the 2-liters (also each). :/ ..We returned home, put it all away, then watched Ellen. I then took over and checked out PlayStation Home for a bit (free virtual items, yay! The EU Winter Wonderland space is definitely more fun though..) before watching three more episodes of Veronica Mars: Season 2 (very good episodes.. only three to go).

We had some supper, then I got online to news-gather and inventory the new discs.. In primetime, we watched Star Trek on Blu-ray. Well, mainly I did. I had a feeling my dad wouldn't like it. I sure did though, even though I'm mainly only a fan of Star Trek TNG.. After that, I watched Scrubs (lol) and Better Off Ted (lol). My dad watched the former.. then went to bed once the other one started. :/

Well, anyway.. See ya.

[Current Mood | content]

I awoke in the middle of the night and finished up the previous entry, then soon fell asleep again for a few hours. I awoke again and got online for a bit, then watched some morning TV. Blah. But after a while, it was.. time to media buy..

First, I headed to Target. They were having some sort of holiday special for the first two hours they were open. I was handed a coupon for $5 off $25 or more.. that was only good that day. I picked up Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince on Blu for $20, then found Get Smart: Season 4 on DVD for just $12.99 (Season 3 was also that price). Couldn't pass that price up.. Together, I had over $25 so the coupon worked and I got $5 off.. I moved on to WalMart.. and got nothing..

At Best Buy, I broke down and bought the first two Harry Potter Ultimate Edition Blu-rays for $33 each. Ack. And they're so huge. Damn.. I also picked up Lost: Season 5 on Blu-ray.. for $50. It's the basic release inside a Best Buy exclusive slipcover with a slot on the back to hold the bonus disc (DVD) and luggage tag. Yup, two slipcovers. One vertical, the other horizontal.. over a thick Blu-ray case. Nice. :) Don't like how the back bulges out though.. Oh, and I forgot to mention that I kept notice a small flaw or dent in the packaging of these discs and kept going to the front of the store and back again a few times just to find a better copy. :/

I got my usual icee (aw yeah, it's been a while) then returned home. We watched Ellen, but not long after it was over it was time to head out again. This time, we headed all the way to the hospital to get my legs cleaned and rewrapped again. The bottoms of my feet are beginning to feel tender. Maybe I'm walking too much.. in these uncomfortable sandal-things the hospital gave me to wear. My shoes have a bunch of holes in them and partly covered in the dried-up leakage. I need new clothes and shoes that aren't "contaminated".. but I spent my money on discs instead... But it's pretty difficult to find clothes that fit me anyway.. :(

We returned home once again. It was now too late to watched the scheduled DVD episodes. Oh well. Fit them in tomorrow. Instead, I only watched Sunday's Desperate Housewives (now that my dad was awake.. good episode.. damn you, mid-season cliffhanger! :p). After that, we soon had some supper (TV dinner :/) and I.. finally threw out all those DVD store bags I had piling up.. for a couple years. I keep the bags with the receipts in case I need to return something. But I let them pile up for too long. The stack finally fell over the other day, so I finally went through them all. :p

I got online to news-gather and inventory the new discs.. In primetime, we watched Men Of A Certain Age (not bad I guess.. not all that much really.. happened.. yet), Rita Rocks (good finale with a totally predictable ending that was stolen from Reba :p), Scrubs (not bad.. only three more JD episodes left I guess :/ ..where's he going anyway?), Better Off Ted (lol, good episode) and The Mentalist (mid-season finale.. good episode). And that's all folks..

See ya.

ron wasserman mmpr 2010 / media / today [Dec. 3rd, 2009|11:59 pm]

[Current Mood | okay]

Ron Wasserman visited RangerBoard and further confirmed that his original music for the series will not be changed for ABC's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers remastered re-airing in 2010 (starting January 2nd!). Awesome. Can't wait. :)

I awoke early in the morning as usual, then watched some boring news and had some breakfast. And before I knew it, I had to get ready.. and then we headed to the hospital once again. I expected to wait longer than we did since we were a "walk-in" this time after all. But everything happened pretty quickly really. And I got to see that hot chick again -- the "Katee Sackhoff lookalike". But now that I finally see her again, she looks way better than Katee. She took off the old wrappings, cleaned my legs a bit, then wrapped them up again. There are apparently open wounds on the back of both my legs or something.. and one of them is now closed. Yay. And it's hurting less everyday. Now if I could just get this tail bone not hurting. Damn hospital bed. After a visit to the bank to pay the cable bill..

Yes, I went to Best Buy. I so missed the place. There, I picked up Lego Batman PS3 (for $20) and the Code Geass R2 Part II DVD set (only one set away from completion now.. hope I can fit it all in January).. We returned home and watched some Ellen, then I.. ended up playing Lego Batman for most of the afternoon. Quite fun. I mainly played through the first three levels. An original story this time too. Nice. :) ..Before I knew it, it was too late to watch Scrubs today. But it was reminding me of my time in the hospital, so that was okay.. Next, I got on PlayStation Home. New festive holiday items, "many" of them free. Well, only two. Liars. *rolls eyes* And why can't last year's items return. I didn't buy the Christmas tree last year. :(

We had some supper, then I got online to news-gather.. In primetime, we watched Community (haha), Parks & RecreationThe Office (lol) and 30 Rock (haha).. before I couldn't take it anymore and fell asleep for some hours. Damn.. And that was about it. See ya. :p

[Current Mood | uncomfortable]

I awoke in the morning, then eventually took my meds, had some breakfast and watched some of the usual morning TV. I then got online for a little while as my dad waited for the mail to arrive. But once it did, we took right away to the bank.. and then the gas station.. and then the hospital. My dad really wanted to go there, even though our lack of money and gas caused us to miss our appointment by a few hours. Oh well. Now they told us I must come back as a "walk-in" before 9AM in order to get my legs re-wrapped. And we must wait until Thursday now due to my dad's dialysis tomorrow.. After that was all taken care of, I visited WalMart.. and.. media-buyed..

Terminator: Salvation on Blu-ray. I did look for some new clothes too (the hospital threw away one of my two pairs of pants, and both were ruined by the leaking.. so I must get some new pants.. and shoes.. ASAP).. but couldn't find anything. Damnit. All I got was extremely hurt feet for walking so much. These flip-flop thingies the hospital gave me sure aren't very helpful there. We returned home, getting an early supper at Burger King. The oven no longer works and my dad still hasn't called the maintenance guy.. for a second replacement yet. :(

So we returned home and I watched New Adventures of Old Christine (yeah, I saw it in the hospital.. but it was a good episode :p), Gary Unmarried (hahaha) and The Prisoner (Part 3.. er, Hour 3? damn, fell asleep again.. better stay awake for all of Part 4 or I'm just gonna give up :( ..I like "my version" better anyway). I got online to news-gather soon after that.

In primetime, we watched House (ooh, good episode this week), the one-hour premiere of Scrubs: Med School (yes, I caught that little thing on the "created" credit.. sneaky.. this Scrubs 2.0 of sorts was alright so far.. haha, I liked the Janitor's final scene :p ..wish they could've fit it in the 1.0 finale though) and FlashForward (aired early somewhere, so here it is... I fell asleep like halfway through.. damnit). And that was about it.

My time in the hospital was rather uneventful really. I just laid in bed virtually endlessly and watched a lot of TV as nurses kept coming in and out testing me and jabbing me to take my blood ("vampirism"). Some of them didn't care when the heck they woke me up. I was quick wheelchaired to a few tests on the first full day, and had a sassy and fun black nurse.. for a couple days until she went on her four-day weekend for Thanksgiving and I never saw her again. :( ..Apparently I had (well, still have.. it's not completely gone yet) a severe case of cellulitis. I had to look at my chart to find out the term since they'd only tell me it was an infection. The swelling in my legs is down a lot and my heels barely hurt at all now. :)

Well.. see ya..

[Current Mood | blah]

I awoke in the morning, got online for a bit, then watched a bit of morning TV. But then I went through the grueling process of getting ready.. and finally headed out to media buy..

First, I decided to go to WalMart. The prices weren't looking that good at all the other stores, so I thought I would check them out. I ended up passing on GI Joe: Resolute.. for now anyway.. even though it was just $14 (on DVD only :( ). I did get GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra though. The Blu was just $19.96 here, the lowest I've seen it anywhere. And there was an "exclusive" sticker redirecting you to their website for a featurette that isn't even there yet.. On the way out, my leg almost cramped up again. Ugh.

I moved on to Best Buy and was extremely disappointed to find no Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 1 Blu-ray on their shelves at all. I assumed they had gotten the usual three copies in and sold out already, but upon getting online later in the evening found that it was a lot more widespread phenomenon. I ordered it on Amazon for $10 cheaper instead. Now the long wait until it gets here. Damnit. I passed on I Love You Beth Cooper as well. Perhaps if I see the Blu really cheap someday.. maybe then.. Oh, I did pick up Big Bang Theory: Season 2 at a great price though. I price-matched Best Buy's $34.99 price down to Target's $18.99 sale price, then used a $5 Reward Zone certificate to get it down to just $13.99. Teehee. :) I already have Season 1. I should get around to watching them.. again..

I got my usual icee (yay), then returned home. I had to. I was worn out.. I quickly inventoried the new discs, then we watched Ellen.. before I played some more Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack In Time. What else can I do now? I had planned to start Clone Wars today. Grr. And by 6PM, I had finished the game. Yay. A great ride. And upon getting back online, I saw that Amazon had already lowered its price for the game to $49.99.. while the $5 off code is still active (RATCHET3). Argh. lol.

I got online to news-gather and had some supper.. In primetime, we watched V (awesome, I really enjoyed it.. but I briefly fell asleep for part of it :( *torrents for re-viewing later*), Heroes (good episode, some ending though.. wow), Bored To Death (lol, good episode) and a couple episodes of Rita Rocks (the episode with MadTV's Michael McDonald was somewhat noteworthy.. especially the very last scene, lol). And that was it. I was considering GI Joe, but my dad fell asleep. Oh well.

See ya.

skyrunners premiere date / district 9 dvd blu art / mars attacks blu / media / today [Oct. 20th, 2009|11:59 pm]

[Current Mood | distressed]

Disney XD has scheduled the premiere of their first Disney XD Original Movie Skyrunners for Friday November 27th at 5PM ET, and it will premiere with limited commercial interruption. It'll be followed by a sneak peek episode of I'm In The Band at 6:45PM ET, which will join the Disney XD line-up in January 2010. "Featuring creatures designed by Weta Workshop (The Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, etc.), Skyrunners revolves around teen brothers that commandeer a small UFO that crashes near their town and discover an evil alien plot to take over the Earth. Staring Kelly Blatz (Aaron Stone) and newcomer Joey Pollari, Skyrunners is a production of Ranger Productions and Shaftesbury Services II. The movie is directed by Ralph Hemecker (Numb3rs) and written by Richard C. Okie (Quantum Leap, Earth: Final Conflict) along with Adam Wilson & Melanie Wilson. Okie also serves as executive-producer of the movie." This sounds interesting...

The cover art is now in over at DVDActive for the much-anticipated December 29th DVD & Blu-ray release of District 9. Awesome! Cannot wait to pick up this Blu-ray..

Think that's a bit of a long wait? How about this! DVDReview.com reports that Mars Attacks! is tentatively set for release on Blu-ray on.. September 7th, 2010. Haha. Wow. Just in time for the Halloween season next year, eh? :/

When I awoke in the morning, the sweats were gone but the dizziness remained. I still wanted to try and go out for discs today.. even though I almost fell over a couple times. I was hindered by my dad returning to bed. Damnit. But I started to get ready anyway.. and my got out of bed and began getting ready too. And eventually, I headed out to media buy..

First, I went to WalMart and picked up Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen - WalMart Exclusive Two-Disc Big Screen Edition Blu-ray. All of them were in those plastic security case things and all the slipcovers were mangled inside them. Ugh. So I went to an employee and asked for one without the mangled slipcover and she pulled out out from behind the desk for me. The Papa John's coupon worked fine, but in the car I noticed the slipcover was still somewhat mangled because I was unable to pick out a perfect copy myself. Damn. :( She wouldn't even let me leave the electronics department without checking out there. :p

Next, I went to Best Buy and was disappointed to find they had no copies of Code Geass R2 Part 2 in stock.. and their in-store computer claimed it's been delayed to next month or something. But at the same time, the Ghost In The Shell 2.0 and Blood: The Last Vampire Blu's were already out on the floor in a cart ($19.99 ea) while the computer said they had a release date of November 17th.. and Amazon claims Nov 24th. :p I ended up picking up Iron Man: Armored Adventures Vol 1 Best Buy Exclusive Blu-ray (it'll probably be in all stores eventually). The DVD got a nice shiny slipcover, while the Blu did not. But the DVD's in full screen, Blu's in widescreen. :)

After that, I went to the nearby mall and eventually found my way to The Disney Store. I asked for the Power Rangers RPM promotional DVD and she accidentally gave me two off of a small stack at the counter. The plastic over it makes them stick together somewhat.. So I headed back to the car, then got my usual icee (yay) before heading home.. I couldn't believe I did all that with a rising case of dizziness. It got pretty bad near the end. Ugh.

I got online to inventory the new discs right away, then once I got comfy in the ling room I checked out Disney Store's Power Rangers RPM demo disc. The episode "In Or Out" is featured like the others are on the Volume DVDs (closing credits over last scene), but the whole thing is on one chapter of the DVD. :p "Ranger Moves" are a collection of short 20-second instructional videos on how to do the Overdrive Rangers' movements and signals. I don't recall this being on any of the PROO DVDs, but I could be mistaken. "Ranger Lessons" is the PROO Vol 5 DVD's "Lessons Learned" featurette. And you already know what the MMPR toyline sneak peek is. I found it a bit odd that at the end of the first three items, there's text on the screen telling you to look for Power Rangers RPM on DVD.. or comparable format.. is I think what it said. What does that mean? Blu-ray? Is PR still on iTunes? *shrug*

Soon after I finished with that, I then watched Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - Big Screen Edition. They had to dumb down that edition title for the basic consumer, I see. I bet there'll still be some "common consumers" complaining about the shifting aspect ratios. Just like with The Dark Knight on Blu-ray, that's what you get here -- the IMAX sequences filling up more of your screen for certain scenes -- and only available at WalMart on 2-disc DVD & Blu-ray.. And the picture quality on those scenes were amazing. Wow. The movie itself? A little not as good as the first film, but I still liked it. There's a few eyeroll-worthy moments of humor near the start of the film that went too far IMO, but otherwise I really enjoyed it. Very good film. :)

I asked the WalMart for a copy where the slipcover wasn't screwed up in that damn plastic security case.. and I got one with everything else wrong with it. The slipcover is still mangled, though not as badly. And there's an annoying crack in the top of the case. Ugh.. So when the movie ended, it was nearing 6PM already.. so I got online to news-gather. We didn't have supper for a very long time because my dad was wore out gong all over the place all afternoon. And I was okay with it. I still wasn't all that hungry anyway.

In primetime, there wasn't anything on TV yet again. But I eventually got around to watching The Mentalist (alright), Bored To Death (lol, very good show), another Mercy (good show) and Secret Girlfriend (yes, episode 2 again.. lol @ me making big deal about Sandra McCoy being in this show and her role ends up being of a blink-and-you'll-miss-her variety.. like two short lines and gone :p). After all that, I returned to my room for the night.

See ya.

voltron.. power rangers / arrested development movie script / media / today [Oct. 6th, 2009|11:59 pm]
[Tags|, ]
[Current Mood | okay]

With a feature film now in the early stages of production, World Event Productions and United Talent Agency are also looking to produce a new Voltron animated series for cable.. I hope the movie is a success. As I may have mentioned before, the popularity of the Transformers movie made the Voltron movie more possible. And if the Voltron movie is successful.. perhaps a Power Rangers movie isn't that far behind? I think Disney may have had that as a possibility in mind when they chose to remaster and re-air Mighty Morphin Power Rangers...

A script for a feature film version of the Fox TV series Arrested Development is in the works, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Awesome. Hope they can get EVERYONE back for it. :p

I stayed up late and watched Heroes (very good episode).. and attempted to follow it with Fringe But the volume on the encode was low and my dad decided to wake up and talk.. and of course I fell asleep during it too. So I'll have t o watch again later.. I awoke in the morning and we.. watched some morning TV. But then I soon got ready and we headed out to media buy..

First, I headed to WalMart. None of the three DVDs I was looking for were in any of the ads, so I this store was my last shot at a good deal. I was quite surprised when I found the new Naruto Uncut Season 1 Volume 1 DVD for just $19.98. That's a great price for the first 25 episodes on six discs. That's half the retail price and $15 cheaper than Best Buy. The packaging in a double-thick DVD case. Not bad, I suppose. I'm more happy to finally get the series at a fair price. I hope Season 1 Volume 2 late next month features the same price. I laughed upon seeing Shippuden Vol 1.. for the same price.. for four episodes. :p

No Contact, no Get Smart.. I moved on to Border and picked up the Gantz Vol 6 manga, then went to Best Buy and found Contact on Blu.. for $24.99. I added a $5 Reward Zone certificate to get it a bit cheaper. I actually passed on getting Get Smart: Season 4. $19.99, a price I can get anytime? Maybe next month.. We returned home and I briefly got online to inventory the new discs. Then my dad and I watched Let's Make A Deal (pretty neat) and Ellen.

Soon after that, I watched five more episodes of Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue (Titanium Ranger, yes! his two-part premiere was especially good.. and perhaps I'm liking it more now than before because I've since learned Rhett Fisher is from my state of Indiana :p), eventually followed by Til Death (it doesn't seem as funny this season so far.. and great, just as I'm starting to like the daughter character.. she's recast.. for the second time in this series -_-).

We had some supper, then I got online to news-gather.. In primetime, there was again nothing on TV so we watched Desperate Housewives (lol, very good episode), House (wow, great episode this week), Grey's Anatomy (it was alright..) and Bored To Death (yay, gratuitous boobies.. very good episode, even without them.. but they help..). And it hit 11PM just as my dad was heading to bed.. so he didn't for a while longer.

See ya.

[Current Mood | okay]

I awoke somewhere around 3 or 4AM, then got online and finished up the previous entry. My dad awoke at 5AM, then I went out there to the living room.. and fell asleep for some more hours.. I finally awoke at about 8AM or so and watched iCarly ("iDate A Bad Boy", another I haven't seen.. lol, funny) followed by the season premiere of Star Wars: The Clone Wars (awesome episodes.. haha's @ Seth Green voicing a robot :p ..funny how out of order all these episodes are production-wise, these are Season 1 Episodes 23 & 13 :p). Once it ended, my dad returned from some errands.

I attempted to watch Grey's Anatomy next. He paid absolutely no attention, then went off on yet another errand. Argh. I got online instead.. And then I watched Kamen Rider Dragon Knight -- episode 126: "Kamen Rider Wrath" (so Maya was supposed to look like Lacey And it fooled them? lol.. pretty good episode.. they finally fought in the bookstore!) followed immediately by two new episodes of Power Rangers RPM -- episodes 1927: "Control-Alt-Delete" & 1928: "Run Ziggy Run" (these were pretty good episodes as well, Tenaya 15 and her brainwash struggle with Dillon again reminded me of PRiS.. and Dr. K finally called Ziggy by his real name! well almost, hehe.. while the Rangers are busy in the latter episode, Venjix makes a deal-gone-bad with Fresno Bob that ends with Venjix having just what he needs for his "final strike"! what is in that box?! Find out in December!!! lol -_-).

After some time online, I took quite a while to get ready.. then was finally able to go to Target.. for this week's DVDs..

I managed to make it into Target and bought Superman / Batman: Public Enemies on Blu-ray (their last copy), How I Met Your Mother: Season 4 on DVD (again, last copy.. ew @ Fox continuing the DVD case with cardboard glued to the front for TV DVDs.. LAME).. and Monster Vs Aliens on Blu (total impulse buy.. Target exclusive Blu+DVD Combo.. I was considering it since seeing the trailers, due to how it may be up my alley.. but I'm still considering whether or not to keep). Meanwhile, my dad went to the phone section and got a really nice new prepaid cell phone from Verizon. Only $20, and it has a camera! Jealous..

While waiting for customer service, my legs hurt a bit and the dizziness (vertigo?) returned a little. It still comes and goes.. I moved on to get my icee, then checked out Walgreens as well. In there, I saw the cell phone my dad had just bought for $50. OMG. Now even more jealous. I officially want to buy the phone too, but I still have $30 to use on my old phone. :(

We finally returned home and I got online for a while. A long while. We eventually had supper, then I eventually watched whatever my dad was watching on the living room TV. Then I fell asleep for a few hours before reawakening in the middle of the night.. and completing this entry..

Bubye now..

[Current Music |Steve Conte & Shanti Snyder - Living Inside The Shell (GitS SAC 2nd Gig Closing theme) | 6:23]

It looks like Disney finally figured out there was a huge ten-week break coming up where ABC Kids won't be able to air any new episodes of Power Rangers RPM, and so new episodes will begin doubling up on September 26th rather than one new and one rerun. :) This means two previously unannounced episode titles can be revealed. Episodes 1927: "Control-Alt-Delete" and 1928: "Run Ziggy Run" will now premiere on October 3rd. After that week, the final four episodes of RPM won't begin until December 19th. Ack. :( But I'm hearing there's a clip show this season and we're getting a three-part finale.. so I guess that's them? Oh, here's those descriptions.. pr rpm 27-28 spoiler )

Warner Bros will release Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince onto 1-disc DVD, 2-disc DVD and 3-disc Blu-ray/DVD combo editions on December 8th. The Blu-ray version will feature Maximum Movie Mode with the cast of the movie. Coool.. According to TheDigitalBits, other features include "a pair of behind-the-scenes documentaries, including one on author J.K. Rowling's work writing the final book in the series, 2 short featurettes on the cast, deleted scenes and a look at Universal Orlando's new Harry Potter-themed attraction"..

Also at TheDigitalBits are a few new details on the Ultimate Edition DVDs & Blu-rays of Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone and Harry Potter And The Chamber of Secrets being released on the same day. All will be oversized boxed sets that will include "both theatrical and extended versions of the films, 48-page photo books, new cast introductions, screen-test footage, all-new featurettes, Digital Copy versions and many (if not all) of the extras from the previous versions as well. You'll also get new In Movie Experiences and Maximum Movie Mode options on the Blu-ray versions featuring director Chris Columbus, complete with PIP video, photos and artwork." Damnit. I want these. I haven't yet upgraded my Harry Potter collection to Blu-ray yet, but making them boxed sets so they can include a bunch of non-disc-based trinkets to jack up the price is a turn-off for me (the Blu-rays have an $49.99 SRP, while the DVDs are $39.92 SRP), as are the huge-ass "1" & "2" on the covers. But then again.. extended editions are an even bigger turn-on.. Damnit. :|

I awoke in the morning.. and watched six more episodes of The Office: Season 5 (only because I initially misread the clock as two hours later than it actually was.. I count the one-hour episodes as two episodes btw, like the one that actually did air in two parts.. I noticed there were quite a lot of deleted scenes for the Super Bowl episode -- 26 minutes! -- NBC definitely asked them to shoehorn in that movie plotline with guest stars Jack Black, Jessica Alba and Cloris Leachman.. that didn't fit the show and I didn't like it at all.. and Jessica Alba was barely in it :( ).

After that, I played Ellen.. but barely watched any of it as I got ready for.. what may be happening today. She told me it would be after 12PM.. Once I was done, I watched Crash Course next.. then fell asleep. After that, I got online for a while. Mainly waiting.. for something to happen. But as the clock slowly reached 3PM, I began to get a bit skeptical.. But then she came by. :)

My relative told me that he will likely get out of the hospital tomorrow now... and that just about everything he took with him to the hospital is now missing. The first time they took him away, he left his wallet and phone.. because the dialysis lady said he should because they may get lost. But when they took him back after he escaped, he took his wallet and cell phone with him. And now they're both missing, as well as his clothes. Ugh. I even gave him his cell phone. It had no money on it, so it would keep beeping every 10-20 minutes or so. I thought he would need it in order to remember my cell phone number, a problem he had the last time he went to the hospital. And his wallet definitely contains some pretty important cards, including food stamps. :(

So after she collected some clothes that he could wear when he leaves there tomorrow, I got ready.. and we.. headed to WalMart.. I think I might have overdid it a little due to my new stress.. or something..

So she waited at the front of the store while I headed to the back and picked up one of three remaining copies of X-Men Origins: Wolverine on WalMart Exclusive 3-Disc Blu-ray (and they weren't with the other new releases, they were hiding with the other Blu's), as well as X-Men: Volumes 3 & 4, Bionicle: The Legend Reborn and Batman: 4-Film Favorites. I think I mainly got the last two so as not to waste so much of her time. For a DVD I'm on the fence about getting, I sometimes stand around and think about it for a while. But I could always return one or both of the latter two..? But.. probably won't happen..

Batman includes all four original movies for just $10, and Bionicle was just $15 and came with WalMart exclusive comic book. On both of them, I wanted to complete my collection. I own the new Batman movies on Blu-ray, but don't really enjoy the original ones as much.. but I do like them. Just not enough to get an expensive boxed set. This is just like the similar set I have for the original four Superman films, only this 4-movie 2-disc set is out three weeks early.. I also already have the three Bionicle films released on DVD by Disney and really liked them too.

The others are more definite purchases and they further complete my collections too. I recently got X-Men Trilogy on Blu-ray but waited until I got this new movie to watch them together. And I'm doing the same for X-Men: The Animated Series (only one more volume to go).. Man, WalMart is sooo stingy on price-matches. I couldn't price-match X-Men Origins: Wolverine down a couple bucks because the Fry's store was too far away. :/ And the register lady had to consult with two other people about price-matching the two X-Men volumes, since the cover in the Target ad wasn't EXACTLY the same than the one before her. She even questioned if there was a different 1-disc edition of them since the sticker wasn't pictured in the ad. And whenever I tried to speak up about it with facts, she just ignored me.. But at least they let those through and I saved $8 there..

My relative drove me there and back in virtual silence. I have such a hard time talking to anyone.. except my dad.. and perhaps anyone online.. So I returned home and inventoried the new discs, then thanked her for the ride via e-mail. *shrug* I then news-gathered as well, then she showed up -- twice -- with a whole bunch of free pantry food for us due to the food stamp card going missing with my dad's wallet. Really nice of her, but my dad will probably end up passing some of it on. I mean.. full ears of corn, leaves and all? :p

In primetime.. I.. watched SNL Weekend Update (lol @ opening skit), Parks & Recreation (lol), The Office (lol.. pretty good episode), Community (not.. all that great at all.. so far.. I laughed maybe two or three times) and True Blood (Sunday's finale.. at last.. omg @ the ending.. it's always the ending :p). Then I.. returned to my room..

I hope they find dad's things, he returns home and everything goes back to normal. But knowing my life, it probably won't. It always seems to be one step forward, two steps back.. *sigh* See ya.

[Current Mood | uncomfortable]

I didn't get to sleep until maybe 2:30 or 3AM. My dad kept complaining about how cold it was in the living room. I didn't feel the same. So of course, I awoke in the morning 7:30 to the air conditioner now turned off and the apartment now hot and stuffy. Great. He appeared to be okay with it, but I wasn't. I turned up my fan in my room and got online for a bit.. My dad kept sleeping and then even went to bed for a bit. I watched some things on TV, then he briefly awoke again. I must've told him 20 times that this was Tuesday, a very important day. I eventually got around to changing my clothes, then got ready to head out. And it took for what seemed like forever, but we eventually did go out to media buy...

First, I headed to Target and passed on Fringe there. As expected, their bonus disc was only packaged with the DVD version. Ugh. And on top of that, they only had one Blu-ray copy on the shelf. I did pick up Power Rangers RPM, Volume 2: Race For Corinth on DVD for $14.99 though. There's a coupon attached to this release -- buy this DVD with any other Power Rangers DVD and save $6. But I already have them all already. :p For those who buy online, Amazon is offering this exact same deal. Neat. :)

Next, I moved on to Best Buy and picked up Fringe: The Complete First Season on Blu-ray (with Best Buy Exclusive "Fringe #0" Mini Comic.. and yay, Blu-ray!) and The Office: Season Five on DVD (already have Seasons 1-4 on DVD, so DVD it stays). I made sure to apply the free gift card I got a few weeks ago as well.. I got the usual icee (man, if only I could have this everyday..).. then headed to Pizza Hut for another pizza. I went to a different store that was closer to home though and got a crappy pizza. Ugh. Way too little cheese. No wonder they had no customers and appeared to be packing up and moving their stuff. >_> Yes, I offered my dad a piece and he accepted. Still, crappy pizza. Not going to that one again.

Upon returning home, we watched Ellen (another season.. to waste time on for the most part, yay), then I watched four more episodes of Heroes: Season 3 (still pretty good.. especially Bryan Fuller's "Cold Snap" episode, wow.. pleeease come back to Heroes :( ). After that, I also played my first-and-possibly-last GameFly selection -- X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Probably shouldn't be playing this game, since I haven't seen the movie yet which is conveniently being released next Tuesday. Can't wait.. But ack @ all the spoilers for it here. And yet, I still want to keep playing.. since I earned four new trophies already. :p

I shut off the game a little past 6PM (it's so linear and difficult to choose a time to stop :p), then got online to inventory the new discs and to news-gather.. In primetime, we watched 10 Things I Hate About You (I guess it makes some sort of weird sense that this season ends at 10 episodes.. very good episode though :) ), Ruby & The Rockits (haha) and America's Got Talent (two hours of boredom for the most part.. I didn't even mind staying seated for half of the performances, so it was rather lucky that I was seated for FootworKINGz' performance near the end of the show.. they streetdanced and fake-fought to Ron Wasserman's original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers theme "Go Go Power Rangers" while wearing multicolored shirts, haha.. gotta find a video of that!).

And that was about it for the night..? See ya.

[Current Mood | worried]

Click the corresponding retailer for their ad for the week of September 6th to 12th: Best Buy & Target.. I really wanted to start my Fringe collection on Blu-ray.. but they continue to keep the prices high for whatever reason. The DVD version of Fringe: Season 1 is $35.99 at Best Buy and $37.99 at Target. And Target has a DVD-only bonus disc. Damnit. Best Buy's DVD & Blu-ray versions of Fringe come with a mini comic book. Best Buy's Blu-ray is $49.99 and Target's is $52.99. :/ ..At least The Office: Season 5 on DVD is a bit cheaper -- $31.99 at Best Buy and $32.99 at Target, but they both have their usual deluxe versions for a higher price. Best Buy with their box set and Target with another bonus disc.. Wayans Bros' comedic parody flop Dance Flick will arrive only on Blu-ray this week (a DVD version will arrive weeks later). I was considering it.. but $25.99? Pass.. until it's cheaper anyway.. >_> And no ad mentions Power Rangers RPM, Volume 2 - Race To Corinth. Target will probably have it for $14.99 again though.. I could always buy Fringe on DVD now, then switch the bonus disc to the Blu-ray version when it gets really cheap. Hmm..

I awoke at about 4:30AM and finished up the previous entry. It's the second night in the row where I just sat down in the living room to watch some late night TV.. and fall asleep for hours. :/ ..So my dad was already awake by 6AM. I put $20 on his phone over the internet for him since he barely knows anything about the internet. I searched and found some Power Rangers comics (CBRs) that I don't have yet. Yay. My dad called AAA again and they both took off with the car in tow. I hope it all works out.. But of course it all went to pure hell.

I watched an episode of Iron Man: Armored Adventures (really need to catch up with this show.. and that's a problem when the only people I know of encoding it are doing it in MKV which the PS3 still can't play.. good episode though, I'd almost stop and wait for a full season DVD though.. they're doing volumes first, damnit). I watched the latter half of it multiple times as I struggled to stay awake.. I finished it then fell asleep for a few hours.

I had a dream where our cat got loose in this big room or something with a bunch of other pets. I got angry over my dad not looking for him and said "shit" among his female company. She said something about my speech and I apologized.. then just stood there and stopped talking. She eventually scoffed.. I awoke to the cat practically jumping into my lap. :p I got online for a bit, then visited PlayStation Home.. and wasted $5 on another apartment. Post-Apocalyptic Shelter is awesome though.. except for the lack of platforms to sit stuff on the roof and other places you're not supposed to. Damn.

I then eventually watched the last six episodes of iCarly: Season 2 Volume 1 (nice.. iChristmas was especially cheesy :p). My dad returned not far into the second episode though.. and he was not happy at all. He was told by the AAA guy that the mechanic he had chosen to take his car to was the highest place in town, but he went ahead anyway. The guys there replaced the starter and the wires leading to it.. and possibly something else.. for about $370 or so. Ugh. He got so screwed. Even I had a feeling that that wasn't the right place to go. Guess I should voiced that opinion.

And then came the news in the mail that my dad's bank account had overdrafted twice again late last month. This made my dad quite sad and angry. My dad visited the bank and only came with a phone number, which he called. And they gave him another number. Yup, the runaround. Ugh. My this point, he was getting quite crazy. He confused his Virgin Mobile phone balance with his bank balance. Multiple times. And I had to explain it to him multiple times.

I eventually got him to visit the bank again. I went with him.. and waited in the car. He said to be explained the phone balance / bank balance thing once again while he was inside. But he got the overdraft straightened out. The same people ("greatfn", google it) had charged him again even though he had changed his debit card number since the last time they did it. And now he's getting yet another new one. *phew* My dad then took me.. to Target.. where I reactivated my phone... and bought the last copy of Heroes: Season 3 on DVD with bonus disc. I even price-matched. Had to do it at Customer Service though. :p

My dad kept having problems knowing where places where on our way back. Places we had been many times before. I got the usual money out of my account for the cable bill.. and he didn't say a word as I didn't ask for change. An extra $15. I'm such a totally awesome person. -_- I then went to Taco Bell and got some supper.. for myself. He said he.. didn't want any.. Neither of us felt like going to the grocery store right now, even though we're still pretty much out of food at home.. And then we finally returned home. I had my supper and got online to news-gather.

In primetime.. we didn't watch anything. Totally didn't know there was another damn football that my dad had to see. No problem though. There was nothing new to watch on TV anyway. I just thought we'd watch a movie or something.. My dad also seemed to be crashing pretty bad. He could barely talk to me just now. Due to all this bullshit that's been happening, he decided not to go to dialysis all week. He probably thinks it's something else entirely since he doesn't want to go to dialysis tomorrow either.. And now he's having a hard time using the remote control, changing to channels he'd never watch and playing my DVRings.. *sigh*

I'm just so conflicted. I really want to help my dad.. but I also want to keep my shell of media intact as well. And this is the heaviest month of the year for TV on DVD.. though this one is a bit less heavy than ones in the past.. While I'm trying to protect what's left of my sanity, my dad's trying to keep a roof over our heads. He's thinking about what bill he should not pay this month. And he's actually thinking about letting the car go after spending almost $400 on it today (he still has a few payments left, don't know why he didn't go to the rent-to-own guy he got it from about the problem). My wellbeing.. or my sanity.. It's just such a hard choice to make. -_-

See ya.

Greg Aronowitz has now posted his Power Rangers SPD Part 3 blog post. This time, he covers what it took to create Piggy and put him on the little screen. THere's also a bit of neat trivia near the end about a family member that ended up cut from the finale..

Check out these new extended promos for the upcoming seasons of The CW's Smallville and Supernatural.. Oh, and then check out the details of this promotional blood drive tour of colleges & high schools for The CW's new drama The Vampire Diaries -- the "Starve a Vampire. Donate Blood." initiative. lol. :p The cast will even show up for the August 26th drive at Goergia Tech..

I awoke in the morning and got online for a bit, then got ready and soon headed out to media buy once more...

First, I went to Best Buy.. and just mulled over which spayshul version of Smallville: Season 8 to get for like 40 minutes. I kept looking at both, putting one down, picking it up again.. bleh. I made note that the DVD version was in a double-thick clear DVD case and was in huge supply.. and that there was only TWO Blu-ray copies (of the seven in stock) with the metal slipcover. But I finally chose the DVD version over the Blu. And because of saving $15 with that decision, I had enough to get Scrubs: Season 8 as well. Hooray. Scrubs has a promo DVD on the back with full episodes of Brothers & Sisters & Castle and other shorter promo crap for some other shows. It's the ABC Starter Kit disc, promoting ABC shows on DVD. I saw the bonus disc sticker and got all excited.. then.. "..oh..". :/ I was surprised to get a $5 gift card when I checked out. Didn't think Scrubs was eligible for that "buy two new release TV DVDs" deal in their ad, but I guess so.. I'm keeping both closed for now though.. since I'm still on the fence about them (Scrubs: Season 8 is coming to Blu-ray in a couple months with exclusive special features.. damnit).

I then got my icee (yum), some Taco Bell, and returned home.. My dad watched some TV, then I took over and watched Death Note II: The Last Name (another great movie.. really liked how they condensed two plots from the anime into one.. and completely ignored the Mello & Near stuff.. the ending was also unexpected, so that was cool.. now the third film tomorrow is sounding slightly like Prison Break: The Final Break, in that it takes place in between scenes in the previous movie, ha :p ..looking forward to it.. even though Warner's retarded eco case caused a hole to be jabbed in the back cover art, assholes).

After the movie, I just played Saints Row 2 for a few more hours. I attempted a mission, then gave up.. I deleted and reinstalled the game data recently to see if it would fix the missing store items. Nope. Didn't work. Ugh. :( And then I forgot to download and reinstall the free Unkut DLC, so a game save wouldn't load.. and I decided to wait until today.. when the PSN just happened to be down. Damnit. So I created another scantily-clad female character instead for now. *shrug*

We had some supper, then I shut off the game and got online to inventory the new discs and to news-gather.. In primetime, we watched 10 Things I Hate About You (another good episode..), Ruby & The Rockits (seeing slight improvement..) and two hours of America's Got Talent (blah for the most part.. just couldn't get into it this week). And that's about it..

See ya.

get smart s5 / ps3 gamescom / media / today [Aug. 18th, 2009|11:59 pm]

[Current Mood | groggy]

Get Smart: Season 4 is still on track for retail release on October 6th, but now HBO Video has announced that the final season Get Smart: Season 5 will be released on December 8th. Nice. I've been enjoying these seasons. :) Check out that Season 5 cover art though. Looks like Maxwell had just found out that his series was canceled. :p

So PlayStation has found another way to charge us -- avatars. A lot of PS3 users have been asking for new avatars.. and now you have to buy them on the PS Store? :/ The premium themes that you also must pay for are pretty lame IMO.. but the dynamic themes coming soon.. may just be worth my money. Maybe. I mean, they're animated. Check out all the other updates to be made to PS3 on September 1st in the new 3.00 firmware update. Oh, and there's also a huge-hard-drive'd slim PS3 coming for just $299. Damnit.. That's probably why they're desperate to get rid of the Nyko Media Hubs like the one I bought today. Best Buy had them on "clearance" for $4 cheaper.. I'm also a bit excited for the inclusion of water to LittleBigPlanet. I hope that DLC is free though, like that last Creator Pack..

Oh, and there was also quite a few things announced for PlayStation Home, including new character customization options, new character animations and dance moves. It's said avatars will be able to throw a ball, drink.. a shrinking potion.. and carry a camera around everywhere (yay!). Upcoming spaces include ones for SingStar (interactive dance floor?! sign me up!) and Audi. Especially looking forward to the camera. Hope it can save pictures of my avatar to the XMB though..

I awoke in the morning.. to my dad's underwear in close proximity to my face. Ack. So I had to jump up and run out of there. I had fallen asleep in the living room again and my dad was getting rather worried about the air conditioner acting up again.. which just happened to be over my head in the window. Underwear was all that he was wearing. -_- ..So I got online and finished up the previous entry, then went to sleep for a few more hours.

My dad awoke me a few hours later saying it was about time to go. We saw a little morning TV, but then I got ready and headed out to media buy once again...

My first stop was.. Big Lots. I had heard about some very good DVD deals there. But I guess I was too late. They had found out someone was supplying the chain with copies of Warner titles that were meant to be destroyed rather than sold and someone got in trouble. I'm talking a whole season of Smallville -- on Blu-ray -- for just $6. Crazy. I did find Johnny English on DVD for three bucks and I also got another USB drive (4GB for $12, cool). I also eyed a $15 webcam. Hmmm.. Nah. Wouldn't want to torture people with my ugly mug..

Next was Best Buy, where I checked out Dexter: Season 3. Their exclusive packaging consisted of a plastic slipcover that was red all the way around except for the title logo in the front. That's it. Ew. I had forgotten all about Code Geass R2 Part 1 coming out this week and was surprised to see it on the shelf. The separate volumes are nowhere to be found (probably canceled). Part 1 is in a single two-disc DVD case with no slipcover. The Limited Edition is only slipcovered with a manga. I was also surprised to see Death Note L Change The WorLd out on the shelf a whole week early. :) Since it was on sale, I got a Nyko Media Hub for my PS3 (it adds two more USB ports and a card reader).

I got my usual icee (yummay), then headed over to Target next. There, I bought Dexter Season 3 with Target Exclusive Bonus DVD that features a 60min "Cast & Crew Q&A at Comic-Con 2008". It's comes in an envelope inside the packaging.. I then ordered a pizza from Pizza Hut for lunch (I haven't had their pizza in so long.. it's no longer greasy anymore... damnit >:( ) and returned home.

After I got everything situated.. and inventoried the new discs.. I watched the first three episodes of Dexter: Season 3 (in between my dad screwing with the air conditioner so that I had to pause and leave the room.. I enjoyed these episodes, very good start :) ..I like waiting until they're on disc since the previous seasons seemed like one long awesome movie when done this way :p). I then played Saints Row 2 up until about 6PM (Chop Shop mainly.. and I just found out that by selecting a car from the lists in the menu, you can find the cars a lot easier, they pop up in the minimap :) ).

We had some supper, then I got online to news-gather.. In primetime, we watched 10 Things I Hate About You (lol, very good episode this week.. a bit better than usual), Ruby & The Rockits (haha, a little better here too I must admit).. followed by two more hours of America's Got Talent (a lot of good ones this week.. unlike last week.. so those two hours almost seemed to fly by). And that was about it? See ya. *runs off*

no news? *kicks dirt* / media / today [Aug. 11th, 2009|11:59 pm]

[Current Mood | somewhat okay]

Once I was done with the previous entry last night, I stayed up a few more hours.. and played some more Saints Row 2.. past 2:30AM. Heh. I found the secret mall and bought some of the cool costumes (hazmat suit! ..catgirl suit!), then went buying up all the properties.. all on my cheat game save, of course. But it didn't take every long for my dad to come out complaining. It seems that's all he ever does. He's keeping his bedroom door closed 24/7 due to the cat menace, making it quite stuffy in there. So he couldn't sleep in there.. then eventually learned he couldn't sleep very well on the couch either. And he made sure to let me know. Just open the damn door back up already.

I shut off the PS3 and soon slept.. then woke up.. got online.. then slept again.. I then awoke.. and got online again. After some morning TV, I got ready and we soon headed out to media buy.

First, I headed to Best Buy and reluctantly bought I Love You, Man on Blu-ray. I just wasn't all that sure about the purchase.. mostly because the best the stores offered it for was $25.99. I then got my icee (as well as two 20oz of the new Diet Mountain Dew UltraViolet.. it's pretty good), dropped the disc off at home, then headed to the grocery store next. I went across the entire store and ended up getting no leg cramps this time. And my legs only hurt a little. As I previously said, my leg may just be getting better. Partially, at least. It's leaking less..

We returned home and put everything away, then I watched four more episodes of Get Smart: Season 3 (lol.. Don Rickles!), followed by Robot Chicken (lol.. for the parts the cat wasn't blocking my view anyway :p) and The Mighty Boosh (lol wtf, crazy episode).. We soon had some supper, then I got online to inventory the new disc and to news-gather.

In primetime, we watched 10 Things I Hate About You (lol, another very good episode), Ruby And The Rockits (a bit better than usual, nice) and those two hours of America's Got Talent (wow.. a lot of those sucked, and Piers agreed). And that's about it.

Bubye.

alien prequel / 4kids 4sale? / conspiracy theory / media / today [Aug. 4th, 2009|11:59 pm]
[Tags|]
[Current Mood | pessimistic]

Ridley Scott has signed on to direct 20th Century Fox's upcoming Alien prequel, that takes place before the 1979 hit film. Cooooool.. Hope it doesn't suck..

Reports are coming in that 4Kids Entertainment has put itself up for sale. 4Kids is best known for its anime franchises such as Pokemon, One Piece and Yu-Gi-Oh! as well as producing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003) animated series. :(

TruTV has greenlighted Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura, a new documentary series revealing the truth behind.. conspiracy theories. Jesse Ventura has spoken out in the past about how be believes that 9/11 was an inside job.. and when he appeared on a talk show, he revealed that the pilot episode of this series was about 9/11. This should be interesting. :)

I awoke and got online for a little while, then waited for my dad too take off for his scheduled medical appointment. Once he did, I watched the remaining four episodes of DBZ Season 7 (I watched Disc 5 late last night, but fell asleep during its last episode.. so I rewatched it here with all of disc 6.. *shakes first @ cutting off in the middle of a plot line* :p). My dad returned just as I finished the episodes. I finally got ready to media buy.. but due to severe weather in the area, we had to wait. Even though it was thundering pretty bad out there with the lights flickering off multiple times.. I slept through most of it. I was doing it during DBZ though too, and I ignored it pretty well. But finally, it was time to media buy...

First, I headed to Best Buy and picked up a title I've been waiting for for a while: Fullmetal Alchemist: Premium OVA Collection on DVD. My collection is finally complete! ..until Brotherhood comes out here. :p It was until I got home that I noticed that my copy had a huge broken piece on the case. Urrgh! Now I must replace it next week! Wish I could go sooner, but.. yeah.. I also price-matched the Shooter Blu-ray from their $34.99 to Target's $14.99. Heehee.

Next, I moved on to Wal-Mart and picked up Dragon Ball Z: Season 8 on DVD. I almost picked up Season 9 as well. They were both $30. Best Buy had the older seasons for $25 and the newer ones up to $35, so not bad. I checked out.. then I waited on my damn leg at front of the fucking store for what seemed like 20 or 30 minutes while my dad went looking for a damn vacuum (car locked). Very painful.. His got screwed up recently, so he needed a new one.. Once I finally gave up and headed back out to the car in the rain, he soon came right up behind me.

We returned home. Even after I removed my foot from the very uncomfortable shoe, it still wouldn't stop hurting. I tried to get onto PlayStation Home for what little time I had left in the afternoon.. but I could find nothing to do. And the pain didn't help. Shortly after 5PM, I got online to news-gather and inventory the discs. I've been waiting so long for FMA OVA and now I don't know if I should wait until its replaced to watch it. Or even if I get the chance at all. Damn leg seems to be getting worse every Tuesday. Though today it was mainly due to a wet and tight sock in my shoe.. and I don't have any to replace them with. Ugh.

We had supper (dad's cheeseburgers for the 3456457646th time, hooray! shh, dad gets tired of them too.. but its all he seems to get..? O_o).. In primetime, we watched 10 Things I Hate About You (lol, very good episode this week), Ruby & The Rockits (hehe) and America's Got Talent (two-hour episodes begin.. yay.. hope the ones I likes wins :p ..didn't vote though..).

And.. that's it? See ya.

krdk new episodes aug 1st / media / today [Jul. 28th, 2009|11:59 pm]

[Current Mood | numb]

BurgundyRanger comes through with some better late than never news, confirming that all-new episodes of Kamen Rider Dragon Knight will begin airing this Saturday morning, August 1st at 11AM ET, on CW4Kids. As it was originally estimated. Haha. Awesome. I can't wait.. New Power Rangers RPM is also in store for this Saturday. :)

I awoke early in the morning yet again. Ugh. So getting tired of that.. on days that my dad is here to watch hours of useless "news". He tells me this one channel he watches just repeats everything all morning, yet he watches it anyway... I got online for a few hours, then sorta fell asleep once I went to the living room. I awoke a little after 9AM and started to get ready.. and then I headed out to media buy..

Due to my damn leg, I didn't want to be out for very long. I was planning to go to best Buy as well, but ended up getting everything at Target instead. Everything was pretty much the same price anyway. Dollhouse: Season 1 has a longer runtime listed on the DVD than the Blu-ray.. and everything on the discs is the same. Don't know what's up with that. The packaging themselves claim the Blu-ray is 540mins and the DVD is 641mins. It could easily be a typo, I suppose. But Amazon is claiming 641mins for the DVD and 694mins for Blu. WTF? :/

I picked up the Blu-ray anyway though. I was really looking forward to making Dollhouse my first TV Blu-ray purchase. But they really should have done a full slipcover rather than this lame looking cardboard thing glued over the plastic wrap that I'll now have to carry with the Blu everywhere since I doubt it'll fit inside. Grr.. Green Lantern: First Flight comes in another nice Green-ray case (sweet). The Target "exclusive disc" was only with the 2-disc DVD and only included Justice League episodes "In Blackest Night" Parts 1 & 2. But the Blu-ray seems to have two more episodes than the basic 2-disc DVD, so maybe they're included anyway? I can't put the disc in right now to find out. :(

Looking forward to finally watching The Spectacular Spider-Man: The Complete First Season all over again.. though I may wait until after Season 2 finishes on Disney XD first.. I'd like Dollhouse right away too, due to the two unaired episodes (the original Pilot and season finale Epitaph One).. but I'll try and wait until closer to the second season premiere. :p

So I got the usual icee and then returned home. I got online for a bit while my dad watched his.. stuff. Then I took over and watched the last six episodes of iCarly: Season 1 (more good episodes :) .."iCarly Saves TV" was somewhat new due to it being an extended version).. soon followed by my first visit to PlayStation Home in a little while. And even though I hadn't been there in a bit.. I still bought virtual clothes. Damnit. :/ And then I bought Namco Museum Essentials off PSN just because it features a whole bunch of Home unlockables. >_>

At around 6PM, we had some supper and then I got online to inventory the new discs and news-gather.. In primetime, we watched Dating In The Dark (*watches for two minutes* *deletes* okay, maybe not..), True Blood (wow, great episode this week.. and not only due to Jessica's panties :p), America's Got Talent (VEGAS! ... *yawns*) and Better Off Ted (oh, it didn't air tonight at the last second in order to air Bachelorette bullshit instead.. gawdamnit, they're treating this show horribly.. and they've already picked it up for Season 2 in January 2010). After that, I got online.. and it was then that I noticed that I forgot tonight's ABC Family sitcoms. So I went and downloaded them instead. Damn. :(

I intended to stay awake and get some things done.. but I fell asleep all night instead. Damnit. See ya.

no news.. again? / media / today [Jul. 7th, 2009|11:24 pm]

[Current Mood | discontent]

I awoke quite early in the morning and eventually got three more of Caitlin's Way done with as well as last night's Aaron Stone (ooh, hot chick.. oh, and episode was good too) before my dad woke up. He watched his news again and I fell asleep again. I awoke a few hours later to find my dad was was asleep again. Once he awoke, we got ready and headed out.. to media buy..

Amazon links on the cover arts, ain't that just neat. :p ..So first, I headed to Target and picked up Power Rangers RPM, Volume 1: Start Your Engines on DVD for just $14.99. The case it comes in sure is flimsy and Disney doesn't even provide an episode selection insert this time. The disc is confirmed to include the first five episodes of the season though, and with full closing credits.. except for "Handshake" which is the aired credits-over-closing-scene version (screencaps).. I moved on to Best Buy and picked up Reno 911!: The Complete Sixth Season Uncensored! DVD and the The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe Blu-ray. Just $17.99 for Reno and I price-matched Target's $19.99 for Narnia even though it wasn't in any ad. Neato.

I got the usual icee (yum) before heading to the grocery store to pick up some things for the first time this month.. and possibly the only time this month. There was definitely too much walking involved there. I felt worse and worse as I continued through the store, then I got a leg cramp right before I was due to get back in the car. Awesome. And I really shouldn't forget to mention my dad's endless bullshit. He wants me to do something about it.. but he thinks its something else entirely than what it actually is. So what he wants me to do most likely isn't going to help things.

We returned home, then I got online for a little while to inventory the new discs while my dad watched his news and some of that Michael Jackson thing. Blah.. Once he gave the TV back, I watched.. four more DVRed episodes of iCarly and then five more episodes of Power Rangers Lost Galaxy (good episodes, capped by one of my all-time favorites -- "The Rescue Mission".. loved that episode.. considering watching it again tomorrow, lol). Then I got online to news-gather.

In primetime, we watched 10 Things I Hate About You (expectations were a bit too high I guess.. I still liked it though :) ), That 70s Show (just the ABC Family rerun to take up some time.. I've been meaning to download and rewatch this series though) and America's Got Talent (too much suck = suck show damnit.. quit editing it like that). Then I returned to my room and listened to the non-sucky tracks on Now 31 (my collection's still complete damnit.. not counting those genre releases of late). And.. that was about it..?

See ya.

tmnt 25th update again / media / today [Jun. 23rd, 2009|11:59 pm]

[Current Mood | crappy]

Another viral marketing blog post for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 25th Anniversary Special has appeared at 4Kids.TV. I probably wouldn't have posted it.. if it weren't for the MP3 that the image links to.. that provides a tiny audio peek at the upcoming movie. "Cowabunga!" "I am Oroku Saki, the one TRUE Shredder!" "Say your prayers, Turtles. *snort*" Wow. O_O *shakes fist @ making most of us wait months to see it*

I awoke.. but then I fell asleep.. and then I awoke again.. We eventually watched some morning TV, but then.. we got ready and headed out to media buy...

First, I visited Best Buy and picked up The Pink Panther 2 on Blu (I felt contractually obligated to purchase and ignored the bad reviews.. I suck) as well as Death Note Re-Light Vol 1: Visions Of A God on DVD (it was until I had got home that I noticed it was encased in one of those shitacular "eco-friendly" cases with all the damn holes in it due to Warner Bros now distributing Viz DVDs.. what horse shit that is, only thing its saving is Warner's money). Then I got the usual icee (blended the two flavors perfectly, was the best one I've had in a while) and made a short visit to another story before returned home..

While my dad went off to continue his shopping, I watched The Spectacular Spider-Man (the two-episode season premiere.. tried to watch it late last night, but fell asleep, so here I am again.. very good episodes, great start to the season :) ) and Aaron Stone (eh it was alright.. I find it odd that the girl acted like she was going to be a fighter too, but now she's only helping out from the sidelines :/). I then checked out PlayStation Home for a while.. before finally returning to inFamous (so I quit when I got stuck on a rather difficult mission.. but I'm back.. I looked around for a few more blast shards.. then I couldn't believe it when I actually beat the mission and moved forward to the next island, yay.. and even better, I got three new trophies :) ).

We eventually had some supper, then I got online to news-gather.. In primetime, we watched Harper's Island (been a bit since I saw this last.. good episode though) and America's Got Talent (could I finally be tired of this show? over the course of the whole thing, I only enjoyed like 2 or 3 acts.. all the rest were just boredom for me.. sooo looking forward to all the coming weeks of watching it just because my dad still enjoys it). And after all that, I returned to my room for the night.

It seems my condition didn't like what I did today. I guess I walked too much.. and so by primetime it felt like my leg was going to explode or something. So that's just great.. I may just begin making these entries even more bare than they are now. The chair in front of my computer is rather uncomfortable and has become even more uncomfortable now. Perhaps.. news only? Or maybe nothing at all? The barren comments space goes to show how much my very very small base of readers actually care anymore. And who knows how much longer I'm going to live anyway..

Well.. see ya. Maybe.

TVShowsOnDVD has gotten a hold of the press release for the July 28th DVD release of The Spectacular Spider-Man: The Complete First Season. Blah blah blah, all the same info we've heard before really.. But I want to promote this show. It definitely deserves another season, but Disney's being stingy and waiting until they air Season 2 before picking it up for another. So much time has passed since the end of Season 2 that all the crew working on the show have had to move on to other projects. But they can return, once Disney says so after they see some ratings numbers for Season 2.. which premieres next Monday night June 22nd at 8PM ET on Disney XD. :) I'm.. glad to have bought the separate DVD volumes that I'll never even watch now that this release is coming. It means I supported the show. That and my now-out-of-print version of "Volume 1" is a pretty neat thing to have (all mentions of it being a "movie" have been removed from the cover art since I bought it, replaced with "Volume 1"). Plus Volume 1 also has a theme song music video that doesn't seem to be on this release. :( ...June 22nd. 8PM-9PM ET. Disney XD... :)

On September 15th, Bionicle returns to home video in Bionicle: The Legend Reborn. Buena Vista released the original three CG animated films (which I thought were very good, especially 1 & 3), but now Universal will be releasing this title. Just check out this very short trailer. I'm definitely looking forward to this. :p

I awoke to my dad complaining at 6:30AM about the overlapped DVRings that I told him about days ago. Ugh.. I got online to finish up the previous entry.. then my dad went back to sleep.. on a Tuesday. Damnit. -_- I watched some of said overlapped DVRings -- Caitlin's Way (the 3-part series premiere.. The N finally aired it, seems like they never do.. totally forgot about Andy Dick & Dave Thomas as the pair of bumbling criminals, haha.. I thought they were airing this series out of order.. but they're actually airing it in production order rather than airing order.. so good enough for me *begins transfer to VHS*).

Once I was done, my dad was still asleep. Grr. I got online for a while, waiting.. and waiting.. Wasting all the time that I had had plans for.. I played music somewhat loudly, but no reply. But when I sorta.. slammed a door.. he awoke. Then we soon got ready.. and headed out to media buy..

First, I headed to Best Buy and retroactively price-matched True Blood: Season 1 from $32.99 to $24.99. And then I looked for Death Note Re-Light Vol 1 but was told that that's coming out next week. Must've been delayed? :( ..I did eventually buy Zodiac: 2-Disc Director's Cut on Blu for just $14.99 though, with the help of the money I had just gotten back. Yup, now there's a second title in my New & Unwatched list with both DVD & Blu-ray version unwatched. Ack. But at least with this Blu-ray, you can get $10 back by mail if you own the DVD. :)

I moved on to Borders.. and of course they didn't have any new Gantz manga volumes. Not much new there. But then the in-store computer had the release date for Volume 5 pushed back. And I later noticed that Amazon didn't have it in stock either. And tomorrow is supposed to be the release date of the next volume. :(

Then I moved on to Target and picked up some grocery items.. as well as Family Guy: Volume Seven. I had decided to see the Target-exclusive "Big Peter Pack" for myself before deciding. A poster, an art booklet and a rather simply-arted outer slip case for $5 more? Nah, I stuck with the basic edition for $24.99.. Then I went to the grocery store for additional grocery items (the Game Fuel 12-packs are in, woohoo! *buys one of each.. for $5 each...*).

Upon returning home, I immediately watched Greek (very good finale.. look forward to Season 3 in just two months) followed by four more episodes of Veronica Mars: Season 1 (great episodes, I've seen them all before but it's been a while). Due to my dad's sleeping in (and possibly a few other things), I didn't finish these episode until nearly 7PM. I really wanted to get four more in today, so I didn't have the time to get my PS3 online at all. :(

We eventually had some supper, then I got online to inventory the new discs and news-gather.. And then I stayed online the rest of the night, bored out of my mind. I really should have watched something on the bedroom DVR or played a game on PS2.. but nope. Just wasted the night away on websites and IRC. Blah. All because my dad wanted to watch his CMT Awards. Ugh..

Well.. see ya..

terminator tscc s2 dvd blu / contact blu-ray / abc fall dates / media / today [Jun. 9th, 2009|11:59 pm]

[Current Mood | okay]

Warner Bros has now issued a press release announcing the September 22nd DVD & Blu-ray release of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles - The Complete Second Season. Both releases will include all 22 episodes of Season 2 in addition to over four hours of bonus features, while the Blu-ray will feature an extra hour of bonus features.. If the DVD will again be a store-exclusive steelbook like the Season 1 DVD I own, I'll probably get the DVD. But otherwise, maybe I'll get the Blu-ray..? ..I'm gonna miss this show. :( ..Meanwhile, the feature film Terminator: Salvation is said to be expected in stores on September 22nd as well..

Oh man, I soooo excited for this! One of my favorite movies of all time will finally make its Blu-ray debut. Contact will hit Blu-ray Disc on October 6th with a $28.99 SRP. All special features seem to be from the original DVD release.. This was my first DVD purchase back in the day. Too bad it couldn't have been my first Blu-ray too. :) Though it'll also be nice to finally own a copy out of that ugly cardboard snap case.. Warner will also release Sphere onto Blu a month earlier on September 8th..

Summer is just now starting, but that doesn't stop ABC from already announcing a whole bunch of fall season premiere dates. Castle will return on September 21st, the scifi-ish Flash Forward will open the night for the return of Grey's Anatomy on September 24th, and Desperate Housewives will follow on September 27th. And in October, Ugly Betty will return with a two-hour season premiere at 8PM ET on Friday October 9th, before resting into its regular 9PM ET timeslot the following week.

I awoke.. and watched some morning TV. Blah. I had some breakfast, then we soon got ready and I headed out to media buy..

First, I headed to Best Buy and picked up Get Smart: Season 3 and The Big Bang Theory: Season 1 on DVD. I bet that register girl was a bit annoyed by the time I left. I price-matched both items from the Target ad, $3 off one and $13 off the other. And then I added a $5 Reward Zone certificate on top of that. So $14.25 for Get Smart and $11.73 for Big Bang. :) And she was about to not give me a bag until I asked. They only has these huge T-shirt-sized ones.. but I took one anyway. :p

I picked up an icee (for the first time in a while, missed them) on my way to Target. I was looking for a bigger bag of the Strawberried Peanut Butter M&Ms, but the guy stocking those shelves hadn't seen them. :( I left there with nothing, then moved on to the grocery store. I was so surprised to see Mountain Dew Game Fuel was back, in the original Red Cherry Citrus and new Blue Wild Fruit (that tastes pretty similar to DEWmocracy's Mountain Dew Revolution).. so I grabbed a whole bunch of those 20ozs. Heh, I still have a Halo 3 metal bottle unopened in the fridge. :p

We returned home and I soon watched The Mighty Boosh (lol, I really like the music in this show too), Greek (another pretty good episode.. though that prank was priceless) and Pushing Daisies (the first of the three previously-unaired episodes.. I liked it, surprisingly.. though I still say Season 2 hasn't been as good as Season 1). And then I got onto PlayStation Home. For many hours. I finished up the Xi thing for the day, then hung out in Central Plaza for the most part. It was fun fooling some (fellow) pervs with my Cammy costume. :p

I finally shut it off right at 8PM. And that was when my dad woke up from his lengthy nap too. I got online for a bit, then we had some late supper. We then watched Prison Break: The Final Break, a great two-episode "movie" that aired overseas and will make its US DVD debut next month. This takes place in that "Four Years Later" gap from the TV series finale and shows us what we missed. And unlike most of the fourth season, I actually enjoyed it. It was a very nice sendoff for the series that actually managed to recapture what I liked so much about Season 1. And so now I'm actually thinking about getting it on DVD next month.. even though I still don't have Seasons 3 & 4 on disc yet. :p

And so that was about it for the night.. except for news-gathering, of course. Couldn't forget that.. See ya.

smallville s8 supernatural s4 dvd & blu / media / today [Jun. 3rd, 2009|11:59 pm]

[Current Mood | okay]

Warner Bros has officially announced the August 28th DVD & Blu-ray release of Smallville: The Complete Eighth Season. All 22 episodes will be present on 6 DVDs for a $59.98 SRP or 4 BDs for a $79.98 SRP. Special features are set to include audio commentaries, unaired scenes and a couple featurettes.. I didn't really like this season as much as the past ones. With the original series creators gone, the series now has a more.. grittier.. dirtier feel to it. Makes me feel a bit dirty watching it. But I'll probably still pick this up to further complete my collection anyway.. Oand The Dub will also release Supernatural: The Complete Fourth Season on DVD & Blu the following week (September 1st). If it had kept the quality of the first few seasons, I probably would have started buying this show on DVD by now too. But.. oh well..

I got Home late again.. then fell asleep. My dad woke me up at about 4AM, then I soon shut everything down. I awoke a few hours later to find my dad had returned to bed, so I got back on PlayStation Home for a little while. My dad woke up a few hours later and I soon shut it off again so he could see some of his morning TV.. reruns. But eventually, we headed out to the bank.. and to check out Best Buy..

I didn't really expect to buy anything today. I suck.. First, we headed to the bank to do the usual withdrawal for the cable bill.. then I went to Best Buy. I was mainly only there to check out Ratchet & Clank. But then I got worried about the game going out of stock as soon as the price drop happened, so I decided to buy at full price and then price-match later. And then there was a great sale on Blu-rays. It seems to be going all month (according to that in-store magazine) and includes titles for just $9.99 up to $19.99. The Punisher claimed $12.99 on the shelf, but was only $9.99 at register. It sucks that it contains no special features, so I guess I must keep my two DVD versions for that and the director's cut. Ugh.

The Pink Panther (2006) was just $14.99 and includes an expired Movie Money to the sequel. :p I liked the movie when I Netflixed it though, so I wanted to eventually pick it up. Still not sure about the sequel's release later this month though. Looks like they may have kidified it too much.. I moved on to Target... and picked up Star Wars: The Clone Wars on Blu-ray.. for the regular price of $29.99. Ugh. I got really worried about not being able to have a copy with the lenticular slipcover. They're all gone at Best Buy and this single copy with slipcover at Target was hidden by me weeks ago. Heh. Now I have two unwatched versions -- the Target exclusive DVD (just a bonus comic.. the Blu-ray had it too, but the slipcover sucked) and now this basic Blu-ray. They better not include the movie with the Season 1 Blu-ray later this year. :/

We got some lunch from Taco Bell, then returned home. I soon watched last night's episodes of The Whitest Kids U'Know (lol), followed by a single episode of True Blood: Season 1 (another pathetic move, I know.. gotta get this season over with). Then I got on PlayStation Home for a little while (more free shirts.. that all look the same!), then started playing Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction.. for what became hours. I enjoyed it.. but I can't help but feel that I might have grown out of these games since I played the PS2 games. Or perhaps my expectations were just too high.

My dad tried his best to lower my mood, coming into the living room all depressed over.. not having enough money to pay the bills this month.. *sigh* Again, I really suck.. My dad went for a nap. And I got back on PlayStation Home for about an hour for so, then got online to news-gather and inventory the new discs..

In primetime, we watched Wipeout (they've made it more silly.. and easier for people to.. wipeout.. that's stupid), Harper's Island (ooh, getting good now.. took 'em long enough) and The Unusuals (haha, Rear Window.. nice..

upfronts day 2 abc & nbc / upfront 2 bits / r&c in lbp / media / today [May. 19th, 2009|11:59 pm]

[Current Mood | okay]

ABC has now announced its fall schedule for the upcoming 2009-2010 TV season. And feel free to check out some trailers. Favorites Lost, Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives and Castle will all return. But Ugly Betty will be pushed to Friday 9PM ET while the new scifi series Flash Forward will take over its Thursday 8PM ET timeslot. Eastwick, based on the famed witches and starring Rebecca Romijn, gets a Wednesday 10PM ET timeslot, following four new sitcoms. The new series I'm definitely looking forward to though is the V remake from The 4400 executive producer Scott Peters (and ooh, Smallville's Laura Vandervoort stars in it). Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until mid-season for it. Also returning will be Better Off Ted (yay) and Scrubs (eh..). Canceled are According To Jim and Cupid (again).

NBC has also announced its fall schedule for the upcoming 2009-2010 TV season as well. Heroes moves up to the 8PM ET timeslot on Mondays to make room for the new drama Trauma. Chuck will then return and retake its Monday 8PM ET timeslot in March 2010, after the Winter Olympics in late February.. and will be heavily sponsored by Subway. New hangout, here we come! -_- Parks & Recreations, The Office and 30 Rock are all back, joined by new comedy Community. Canceled however are My Name Is Earl (*shakes fist @ unresolved cliffhanger*), Medium (sucks..), Deal Or No Deal (hawhaw) and Howie Do It (huge surprise there). But they had to cut somewhere due to the mistake they made with Leno..

More upfront presentation news bits... FOX already has plans to preview it's new drama series Human Target on Sunday January 17th 2010 at 8PM ET, just before 24's usual four-hour, two-night season premiere is set to begin. Yup, they plan to pre-empt local programming at 10PM ET at night. I've been wanting FOX to expand into that hour for forever. Nice. :) ..Also, check out these FOX returning series descriptions.. if you want some spoilers for next season of these shows, that is..

A recent tweet from Insomniac Games hints that a Ratchet & Clank Level Pack is on the way for LittleBigPlanet, claiming a "bigger" pack than that of Metal Gear Solid. Awesome. I'd definitely be one the first to buy that.. Now I just need those Ratchet & Clank PS3 games..

I awoke in the morning, got online for a bit, then eventually had some breakfast. But then I got ready and we soon headed out to media buy once again...

First, we headed to Target so my dad could get some water.. and I got a couple groceries.. But then I went to Best Buy and picked up the PlayStation3 wireless keypad, as well as True Blood: The Complete First Season (wow @ the fancy.. foldout-to-infinity packaging..), 24: Season Seven (blah, night as well..), Fanboys (ditto).. and the V For Vendetta Blu-ray ($16.99, gimme gimme.. last copy on the shelf too). Yes, I want a bit overboard due to my recent new funds. I'm keeping the middle two unopened for now though.. At the register, the checkout lady accidentally price-matched the wrong item. Instead of taking $2 off 24.. she took $20 off the $50 PS3 keypad.. >_>

Next, I moved on to Borders and picked up Gantz Vol 4. They've moving everything around. The manga was completely missing last time, but I luckily found it this time.. We headed to the grocery store for some things (spending more here than usual too, due to new funds :/), then got some lunch at Taco Bell and returned home. My dad watched Ellen while I got everything in order.. then I sorta watched Greek (nice..) and four more episodes of Get Smart: Season 2 (hahaha).

I finally got on PlayStation Home for a few hours and tried out my new wireless keypad. Didn't get the chance to do much typing, but what little I did was definitely a better experience than the virtual keyboard. I get done typing a lot sooner now. I'm still too shy to actually talk to.. anyone.. with a bluetooth mic.. so the keypad is just a wiser choice.. We had some supper, the n I got online to inventory the new discs and to news-gather.

In primetime, there was very little of interest on. So we ended up watching an episode of The Mentalist (one down, two to go.. good one too.. hope Kristin Davis does return :p).. then my dad didn't feel so good, so he headed outside. Due to this, I watched the remaining two episodes of Bones for this season (I finished one and just had to watch the other.. very good episodes.. except most of the finale.. by the end of the first scene, I knew what it was and it couldn't really keep my attention.. except for the funny moments, and of course that ending.. whoa). I followed that with tonight's The Whitest Kids U Know (lol @ the Backseat skit, that was good..). And then,, I returned to my room for the night..

Amazon recently sent me a notification telling me that I will in fact get the Uncharted 2 multiplayer beta voucher with my Infamous pre-order.. in addition to the exclusive PlayStation Home clothes. Yay. But I bet they got a LOT of e-mail asking about that, so.. e-mail. And for a buck more, I changed the shipping to release date delivery. Only one week to go. :) ..See ya..

tmnt ff 4kids animatic / watchmen announced / transformers home / media / today [May. 12th, 2009|11:59 pm]

[Current Music Download|Eminem - We Made You @ MediaFire]

4Kids.TV seems to have decided to begin releasing the unproduced episodes of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fast Forward on their website as animatic videos with the series voice actors recording their lines. The first episode online now is episode 144: "Master Fighter 2105", which just happens to be the first episode of Fast Forward's 10-episode unproduced season. Unfortunately, you need 50,000 4Kids points (accumulated through codewords or the website's games) to unlock the complete animatic. I only have 6,500 points. :( There is a two-minute preview of the opening scene though...

DVDActive now has new details and better looks at the cover arts for the many home video releases of Watchmen. This site now claims the release date has returned to July 28th from the previously-rumored July 21st date.. even though Warner is still claiming that date. :/ It seems we'll be jipped on special features yet again, like with The Dark Knight. Ugh.. The widescreen & full screen 1-disc DVDs will have no special features, the 2-disc DVD will only add a featurette, 30 minutes of "Video Journals", a music video and that damn digital copy. The Blu-ray will then add two more featurettes, 30 minutes of "Focus Points" and "Warner Bros. Maximum Movie Mode". Another unfortunate move is that Warner Bros will not be putting the theatrical version on the 2-disc DVD or Blu-ray, except for the Digital Copy which will be theatrical. So I'll have to buy it twice if I want to get both versions on disc. Grrr..

Silverscreen keeps its movie promotions coming in PlayStation Home EU. First came Watchmen & Star Trek, and now they're hinting that the next promotion will be for Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen. Nice. :) *grumbles about these not being in US Home for the 2455656th time*

I awoke in the morning to find my dad still in bed, so I just got online for a little while. He woke up a few hours later, then we finally got ready and headed out to media buy...

First, I headed to Best Buy and picked up Taken, S. Darko: A Donnie Darko Tale and Seth MacFarlane's Cavalcade Of Cartoon Comedy on Blu-ray. Yup, I passed on the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987): Season 7 DVD releases out today. Best Buy had all four prominently displayed. But at $10 for each disc, packaged like a toy rather than a DVD..? Yuck. That and I still haven't watched the Season 6 DVD.. and aren't enjoying the series all that much anyway.. Due to how much these cost, I returned straight home.. and my dad didn't even exit the car and headed to the grocery store again. In fact, I may end up returning one or both of the latter two if some expected new funds don't come in soon. :(

I returned to my room and got online for a while, then got back into the living room at about the time that my dad returned. I then watched the remaining six episodes of American Dad Vol 4 (lol ..phew, now that's over with), then got on PlayStation Home a few hours (Ward of Despair is sooo annoying me.. I either die in the minigame or I never get in at all.. I still have none of the items :( ). We had some supper at about 6:30, then I shut off the PS3 and got online to news-gather.

In primetime, we watched two more episodes of According To Jim (lol), the Fringe season finale (wow, very good episode.. looking forward to the DVDs already :p ) and Sunday's Desperate Housewives (my dad slept instead so I kept it for later.. good episode). And that was about it for the night...

So it seems Power Rangers RPM executive producer Eddie Guzelian originally planned to have the Venjix Virus be the the Venjix we know from "Forever Red". In this weekend's episode, it was never said who actually created it. Eddie wanted to wait until around the end of the season to reveal it really was Venjix. But with him off the show after episode 18, who knows if they'll still follow that plan.. :(

See ya.

I awoke in the morning to my alarm at 6AM. Today was going to be a very busy day and I needed to get some stuff out of the way first. So I watched the final four episodes of Freakazoid! Season 2 (and of the series :( ..good times though, and the featurette was neat), followed by 30 Rock (lol) and Reno 911! (lol.. though the drawn-out plot continued from last week wasn't all that great). I also got onto PlayStation Home and finished up the Xi stuff for the day (interesting..).. and also downloaded and played the X-Men Origins: Wolverine demo from UK PSN (wow, looking pretty good.. may get it when it gets cheap).

My dad returned home from dialysis somewhere in there, then we eventually watched Ellen. But I mainly got online during that time actually. Then we had to wait another hour until the mail arrived.. Then it finally did and we took off again...

After a visit to the bank, I went down to Best Buy and picked up The Incredible Hulk on Blu-ray ($15.99! I've been waiting for it to go on sale for weeks, even stopping to look at them at least once a week :p), as well X-Men, Volume 1 & 2 (eh, why not). Next, I moved on to Target. I want to go to a further-away one, but my dad took me to one closer to home. There, I found X-Men, Volume 1 & 2.. and picked them up.. again. Why did Disney have to give some copies slipcovers and others not? Best Buy had no slipcovers on the very few copies copies they had left, but all of Target's abundant copies today did.

And since American Dad Vol 4 was no longer in stock there (in fact it was why I wanted to go the further-away one).. after some bitching and moaning.. I went to the other Target and picked up American Dad Vol 4. Two bucks cheaper than Best Buy. :p Oh, and they had slipcovered X-Men there too. The slipcovers are nice. They're all foilly and outdented. :) ..And since I was in the area anyway, I also returned the non-slipcover X-Men to Best Buy for a refund. I also picked up some Verbatim DVD-Rs that were on sale. Phew.

After all that, we then went to the grocery store some things. We left at about 1PM.. and didn't return until nearly 6PM. Ack. And due to this long absence, our cat seemed more antsy to get outside than usual. We had some supper, then I took him out into the outer hallway again.. like one of us usually does. After that and balancing my checkbook, I got online to inventory the new discs. Definitely didn't have enough time for news-gathering.

So in primetime, we watched Prison Break (getting more and more bored of this by the week.. but I must stay tuned to see how it all ends), Dollhouse (season finale, part 1.. woohoo.. definitely enjoyed this one more.. definitely), Howie Do It (season finale.. finally..) and The Soup (lol). And that was about it.. See ya.

I awoke early in the morning again, nearly an hour before the 8AM alarm.. even though I had stayed awake until at least 4AM. >_> I got online for a bit and watched some morning TV. But then I got ready and headed out to media buy...

My first stop was.. Target. There, I picked up Spectacular Spider-Man Vol 4 for the fine price of $14.99. I'm glad I now own the first season DVD. I'm still curious about next week's re-titled Volume 1 re-release though. Is it only a change in cover art to match Vol 2-4, or could it be the episodes out of the "movie" format of the original disc? If the latter, I'd probably double dip. :p I also noticed X-Men: Volume 1 & 2 for the expected price. Think I may get those later in the week after all.. But what the heck is up with the new packaging on American Dad Vol 4? Three discs in an average-width clear DVD case. And I wouldn't have minded the case so much if there was a slipcover over it. But there wasn't (at this Target anyway.. who sometimes removes slipcovers). Plus they had it a bit cheaper than Best Buy -- $27.99. Maybe I'll check the other Target for it later in the week..

We then went to another unrelated store, picked up an icee.. then we headed to the grocery store. We got both got some things, as usual, then returned home.. We watched some Ellen, then I followed that with Greek (good episode.. I guess) and the last two episodes of TMNT 1987 Season 5 (they were okay I guess.... free at last, free at last! .. *sees unwatched Season 6 DVD* ..damnit). Then I got on PlayStation Home for the rest of the afternoon (finally got that last missing Echochrome item back, yay). So we had some supper, then I got online to news-gather.. In primetime, we watched two episodes of According To Jim (lol), Fringe (wow, very good episode) and Reaper (haha nice)..

*drools a little* :p ..See ya..

cbs & nbc may / funi discontinues tmnt 2k3 / media / today [Apr. 21st, 2009|11:59 pm]

[Current Mood | worried]

Here's a press release from CBS detailing their May sweeps programming, including details on the season's final episodes of.. a bunch of shows. Like the CBS comedies and all those CSI's. NBC has also issued a similar press release for their May offerings..

FUNimation has officially discontinued releasing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003) on DVD. No wonder there was no word about the Season 3 Part 1 & 2 DVDs. :( But fortunately, the 4Kids rep at Technodrome Forums indirectly suggested that the license has moved to Shout! Factory. Interesting...

I awoke in the morning, got online for a bit.. then soon got ready and took off to media buy...

First, I went to Target.. and found nothing. No X-Men Trilogy Blu, no Freakazoid 2. They surely got today's new Tiny Toons in though. Bastards.. I left with nothing and moved on to Best Buy. There, I found Freakazoid! Season 2 DVD and was rather surprised / disappointed by the new packaging. Season 1 has an O-ring slipcover (open on top and bottom), but now this one has a thicker cardboard slipcover that's only open on one side. Would've been nicer if they released both this way..

And then I noticed that the three single X-Men Blu-rays all have movie cash, but not the X-Men Trilogy set. So I either buy the trilogy for $55 and take $10 off with my Papa John's coupon.. or buy all three single Blu-rays for a total of $55 and not be able to get that $10 off.. and get three movie cash tickets in the process. But I really wanted the trilogy so I could have the box to store them in together. After dealing with an employee who tried to help but refused to look in the back room for any trilogy sets with movie cash.. and walking around the store for an hour acting pissed off.. I left with just Freakazoid!.. Now just watch the trilogy with movie cash (which has been reported to have been sighted elsewhere) conveniently show up on Best Buy's shelf right after the sale's over and it goes back up to Best Buy's regular price of $64.99. >:(

I thought it was pretty funny.. but mostly sad.. when this older man asked the Best Buy employee where the new live-action G.I. Joe movie was.. -_- ..We returned home and I got online right away. I had to get online and let my anger out about X-Men. As I did that, my dad watched most of Ellen.. I eventually took over the TV and watched Greek (good episode), then got the PS3 online and checked out PlayStation Home for a bit. And then I played LittleBigPlanet for the rest of the afternoon...

We eventually had some supper, then I got online to news-gather.. In primetime, we watched two episodes of According To Jim (lol), followed by Fringe (wow, very good episode this week.. maybe because its mythology, yay :p) and The Unusuals (still liking this show.. and now its on twice this week, nice). Then I returned to my room for.. yadda yadda yadda..

See ya...

Now here's an even huger sign that Sony has scrapped plans for The Spectacular Spider-Man as a full season DVD set. TheDigitalBits now reports that The Spectacular Spider-Man, Volume 1 will arrive on DVD on May 5th. This is no doubt a re-release that makes the episodes separate, rather than the currently-available Attack Of The Lizard disc that presents the episodes as a spliced-together film. Kid Video just doesn't make sense sometimes, does it? There' word that a complete season release will be out later, so the sales for the first of these "movie" discs gets lower sales because a lot of people are waiting for the complete season DVD later. The low sales convince the company not to re-release later.. and leaves the series' fans with just volumes. Ugh. :/

Buena Vista has issued a press release quite early for the December 8th DVD & Blu-ray release of Lost: The Complete Fifth Season. Not many other details besides the date and suggested retail prices (SRPs) for both versions though. But more will no doubt come as that date gets closer...

The US company Mandalay Pictures has picked up the live-action film rights to Full Metal Panic!, a Japanese manga and anime series "about a teenage anti-terrorist commando named Sousuke Sagara who is given the mission to protect a high-school girl with mystical powers." I have all three seasons of the anime on DVD and really enjoy them. Cannot wait.. to see it ruined.. Zac Efron is already being mentioned to play the male lead role.. It's like Death Note all over again. >_>

NBC has banished its new series Kings to Saturday nights at 8PM ET (effective April 18th) after its tiny 1.1 rating this last Sunday night. Eight episodes of its 13-episode run air still unaired at this time. Argh. :/

I awoke in the morning and immediately got ready.. then we eventually headed out to media buy..

I probably ended up annoying a lot of people today.. and ended up going a bit overboard with my spending as well. Ugh. Perhaps it was more about succeeding in purchasing more than the worry over my budget for the month.. until after the damage had been done anyway.. First, I headed to Target. I passed on the buy-one-get-on-free Blu-ray deal only because they didn't have two that I wanted in stock. Though I did find Donnie Darko on Blu for $17.99 and headed to the register. But it rang up as $22.99. The checkout lady looked in the ad, called to someone in the electronics area.. and the guy said he couldn't find it. There was two copies on the shelf. I only picked up one. They refused to give it to me for the $17.99 that was right below it on the Blu-ray shelf, so I left there empty-handed.

Next, I moved on to Borders.. and foolishly picked up Maxim. I pulled off a free subscription to the magazine a while back that takes me up to the year 2022.. but the newsstand version has a "Limited Edition" Watchmen Silk Spectre II poster inside. Yum.. Damnit.. I moved on to Best Buy and The Day The Earth Stood Still (2008) on Blu (with a free store-exclusive Gort figurine that must be solid metal, so heavy :p) and.. Gossip Girl: The Complete First Season (yes, I did). I also attempted to do Target's buy-one-get-on-free Blu-ray deal via price-match there. After more talking from one employee to the next, they said it could only be done if neither title was on sale in their store. But one of them was, so nevermind that. I did price-match the movie down one buck and Gossip Girl down $30 from their $48.99 to Target's $18.99 sale price. And used a $5 off Reward Zone certificate too. >_>

And then.. I headed to another Target.. I was thinking to myself that I'd get one Blu-ray or the buy-one-get-one deal. Not both. So I actually found Wall-E and Punisher: War Zone for said deal.. then picked up Donnie Darko as well. They also claimed a $17.99 price right under it. I thought that they wouldn't accept that price here either and headed up to the register. But this store seemed more busy. I got to the register and the the other rang up fine.. then Donnie came up as $22.99 again. I explained how the price actually said $17.99. She tried to talk to someone nearby about it, then looked through the ad for it. And as she did this, the line got long.. then she changed the price manually and gave it to me for $17.99..

And in the end, I'm keeping a couple of them wrapped up in case I may consider returning them (the last two above, also the cheapest of them all :/ ).. I got my icee, then we also got some lunch from Taco Bell. Upon arriving home, I watched last night's episodes of Chuck (very good episode) and Heroes (also very good). Unfortunately, I decided to open most of my new purchases at this time.. so they didn't have as much of my attention. :( My dad took off somewhere in there.

Once those shows were over, I got online for a bit. Then I got the PS3 online, briefly checked out Home, then got into GTA IV where I eventually did mainly taxi missions.. My dad soon returned home. The rates on the electric bill went up lately and he's having trouble paying for it. He paid up $100.. but apparently if those bastards don't get another $40 by April 15th.. the electricity is going to be disconnected. Our heaters, the TV, PS3, PC, internet.. will all be useless.. -_- My dad's talking about getting a job.. in his late 60s.. to try and pay for it.

I paid for some pizza for supper, then got online to news-gather and inventory the new discs... In primetime, we watched Reaper (especially good episode this week :) ), Fringe (very good episode here too.. that very last scene was neat) and The Mentalist (pretty good). And.. that was about it.. See yas.

[Current Mood | sleepy]

I awoke in the morning, and almost immediately got ready and headed out to media buy...

First, I headed to Best Buy and picked up the overly-expensive Watchmen: Tales of the Black Freighter & Under The Hood on Blu-ray. $26.99 for about an hour of feature content. Yay. :/ Best Buy has a $19.99 DVD steelbook version as well, but I opted for this instead. Steelbooks are getting to be too abundant anyway, causing them to be less coll in my eyes. :p I have a whole box of them already. If there were exclusive features inside, that'd be different.. I also picked up the Now 30 CD. I had heard of its release just days ago, which is definitely not the norm for me. I.. still have Now 29 left unlistened and it came out in November. Haha.

I finally got someone to answer me about the Code Geass Part 3 DVD. They took one look at the "Backordered" listing on their site, said it must be "online only".. and that was it. Ugh. -_- ..I moved on to my icee, then headed to the grocery store for some things. My dad should really make lists. He just goes in there, buys things.. then comes back home and notices a bunch of stuff he forgot. Only difference now being that he literally can't afford anything else for the next week. :(

So I.. picked up.. the new Otaku USA. The April 2009 issue has a six-page article on Kamen Rider Dragon Knight. It even gets mentioned on the front cover. Cooool.. SO we returned home and watched Ellen, then I watched the last four episodes of Reno 911: Season 5 (yay, over.. haha's @ the random cliffhanger.. I was a bit surprised by all the strip club boobage during this season being un-mosaiced :) ..Season 6 begins April 1st) and last night's Secret Life of the American Teenager (for the first time, I can finally say I hated an episode of show.. usually, there were enough good moments to stay interested.. but with story being stretched, the moments I liked were few and far between :/).

I made my way onto PlayStation Home (oh, nothing new.. *wanders around aimlessly* *exits* heh, I always "go home" before exiting.. as in my home space), followed by some time on Lego Star Wars (well, I did horribly on the next level.. haha). We had some supper, then I got online to inventory the new discs and to news-gather.. In primetime, we watched Reaper (haha, very good episode this week), Medium (wow, also pretty good) and The Mentalist (pretty good). Then..... my room.. Yeah. See ya.
