| Power Rangers Revelations Archive, Part 4 |
[Dec. 20th, 2004|07:28 pm] |
Yes, it's that time yet again... time to archive more Power Rangers revelations. These are mostly facts, rumors, and trivia surrounding the history and storylines of the TV series. Feel free to check out the previous installments: Part 1, Part 2 & Part 3...
CLFunaro: Should I mention Toei actually makes bigger returns on PR, since they don't have to sink any money on it? CLFunaro: Shit, Disney PAYS THEM for so much of what they did... Puperazzi: Yes, I'd demand payment for those atrocities too... CLFunaro: Well, Spy knows why PR does eps like Dream Battle, right? Puperazzi: Dream episodes? Erm... To take the reality out of it?:-P SuperSamuraiStar: To scare kids of sleeping at night? CLFunaro: Because PR has to "pay back" episodes with minimal Toei footage. CLFunaro: Each ep is mandated to have so much Japanese footage. CLFunaro: If they don't do it (say, Rescue Mission or the Space crossover)... CLFunaro: You gotta make it back. CLFunaro: So if you're doing Samurai's Journey pt. 2, you have to use a LOT of footage in part 3.
CLFunaro: The budget for the last five years was a lot bigger than PR's budget now. ;-)
SuperSamuraiStar: They had Sensei in one of the video games Ethan was playing. CLFunaro: Super Ninja Space Wars. CLFunaro: See, I think the Sensei FPS was something Cam was developing.
CLFunaro: See, there was this crazy thought Derik had. CLFunaro: Crazy, crazy idea. CLFunaro: We'll never release Scorp as it is. CLFunaro: But what if George Lucas showed up... Puperazzi: Plausible... LOL CLFunaro: And Derik has his CG work for Serpentera. CLFunaro: A fully transformable model. CLFunaro: He got "space configuration to land configuration" to work. Puperazzi: Derik made a CG model? CLFunaro: Derik was going to be the guy who did the ten Megazord fight. CLFunaro: And the EotPR Megazord fight. Puperazzi: He let me down then. ;-) CLFunaro: Neo Wild Force Megazord (with the Peacock, Zebra, Rat, and Stingray Zords configured with Red Lion) is DONE. CLFunaro: And it WORKS. navythunderrngr: O_O SyurikenImpy: O_O
Trickstyle182x: hey chris, a question, what was the point of the whole subplot they were trying to set up at the end of zeo with bulk and skull going out to be international spies....... and then in turbo the movie they were suddenly back as police Trickstyle182x: again Trickstyle182x: w lt stone CLFunaro: Setup for Bulk and Skull Adventures. CLFunaro: Which was canceled in preproduction. CLFunaro: Shame. Trickstyle182x: for what reason? Trickstyle182x: economics? CLFunaro: Who knows. CLFunaro: Doug and Jackie had a lot of plots they wanted to sequel in Turbo, and Zeo's ratings were WORSE than season three... CLFunaro: So you can see why Jonathan was very "fuck it, we're not sequeling anything." Trickstyle182x: what about them being turned into chimps? Trickstyle182x: did the actors not want to work onscreen Trickstyle182x: for that period? CLFunaro: They had no idea what to do with Paulie and Narv, it was a simple half-write off. CLFunaro: They only had to put time in for ADR -- even though working with chimps was labor intensive. CLFunaro: Yes, I don't know why.
CLFunaro: Well, here's the funny thing. CLFunaro: Amit can't make Scorp canon. CLFunaro: He can make it in-continuity. CLFunaro: Isn't that a hoot? CLFunaro: It wasn't sanctioned, it's NOT canon. CLFunaro: ... But he could mandate it as in-continuity. CLFunaro: I think that's a hoot. Trickstyle182x: were there refs to it in forver red tho chris? CLFunaro: The whole ep was a sequel. Trickstyle182x: i figured as much CLFunaro: And yes, "aw man, that's one ugly Zord" is a direct line for line recycle. CLFunaro: (Amit's read was better) Trickstyle182x: cuz of the serpenterra plot CLFunaro: All lines saying they'd had to put Serpentera back together were cut, sadly. CLFunaro: Jonathan had limits on the Scorp aspects. CLFunaro: "No, that's just confusing."
Trickstyle182x: but all of wf seemed storybook like Trickstyle182x: like a fable CLFunaro: Well, THAT was intentional. Trickstyle182x: ahh Trickstyle182x: ok CLFunaro: Amit wanted that more at the fore than it was, actually. CLFunaro: A lot more stuff about Animaria, etc. CLFunaro: A lot less Zen-Aku and Kite. Trickstyle182x: wf was a major departure CLFunaro: Man... They wasted a third of Wild Force on those stories. CLFunaro: Wild Force suffered from the same problem Time Force does, sadly. CLFunaro: Adapting plots for no reason other than "Toei did it." Trickstyle182x: Time force started out AWESOME Trickstyle182x: and then fell apart CLFunaro: But yeah, in the writing room when PRWF premiered there was a real sense of "We gotta make up for Time Force." CLFunaro: And they didn't really succeed. CLFunaro: PRWF was more of a slow fire. CLFunaro: PRTF burned out quickly. CLFunaro: Still, until Clash for Control? CLFunaro: That's AS GOOD as PR gets. Trickstyle182x: the destiny saga dude Trickstyle182x: that was tight CLFunaro: Right, "lets randomly rip off a Toei plot for no reason." CLFunaro: No, the Frax stuff was gold. Trickstyle182x: but it was a GOOD plot Trickstyle182x: why not rip it off CLFunaro: Doesn't matter. Trickstyle182x: its a good one Trickstyle182x: unlike kite Trickstyle182x: which sucked ass CLFunaro: You don't steal plots for no apparent reason. CLFunaro: More to the point, it weakens PR as its own entity. Trickstyle182x: there was a reason CLFunaro: No, Chip gave up. CLFunaro: He said. CLFunaro: he gave up and didn't care anymore. CLFunaro: He forgot the names of the Time Force Rangers two months post-production. CLFunaro: That says a lot.
SuperSamuraiStar: Do you guys remember those Zeo serial commercials? CLFunaro: I remember some. SuperSamuraiStar: I vaguely remember one of them, which might have had Ohranger influence. Puperazzi: I barely do. Puperazzi: It would be nice to have a season DVD with those as extras, Disney... SuperSamuraiStar: There was one that there was someone in a secret government like headquarters, scanning for aliens if I remember correctly. Now that I look back at it, I wonder if they were originally going to have an Ohranger approach. navythunderrngr: o_O... really?... whoa! CLFunaro: It was a NOSA base, IIRC. CLFunaro: Dr. somebody. SuperSamuraiStar: Sounds about right. CLFunaro: Monitoring deep space, but the Rangers are gone. CLFunaro: It was meant to be set "post" MMAR. navythunderrngr: holy shit, thats schweet. CLFunaro: No intent to adapt Ohranger straight that I'd ever been told. CLFunaro: The Rangers were MISSING, that was the crux of it. navythunderrngr: now I wanna see it -_-* SuperSamuraiStar: ahh, I liked Zeo though. It was a nice change.
Allusion> If Tommy was really so great Allusion> He would have jumped in, stopped Andros Allusion> and single handedly beat back everyone Morose_Angel> Pft, Tommy would have if he had known about it. Morose_Angel> But that bitch Dimitria made him quit. Allusion> Yeah Allusion> that bitch Morose_Angel> So..he was probably thinking.. Morose_Angel> 'Screw the world' Morose_Angel> See if I ever help them after they took my badass morpher and key. Allusion> He prolly only became the black ranger to prove her wrong Morose_Angel> Hell yeah. fire_amigo> Tommy is hapily making money from making people pay to swim in his back yard. Stitch> i though bulk was the owner? fire_amigo> Bulkmires is in Tommys backyard Stitch> >.> Stitch> that could explain bulk and skull's 'fear' at bothering him.. Morose_Angel> Poor Bulk and Skull.. Morose_Angel> They were so out of place around those teen rangers. fire_amigo> You'll see the explenation in my directors cut in Forver Red Stitch> what, fire? fire_amigo> ... I have acouple cut scenes from Forever Red Morose_Angel> Share, fire_amigo. fire_amigo> you'll see it all explained by january Stitch> whaaaaaaaaaat? Morose_Angel> Yeah. Stitch> january? awful long time.. fire_amigo> I have some Forever Red dailies Morose_Angel> Share, fire_amigo! ;_; fire_amigo> Morose Angel>> Let me just go through the dailies fire_amigo> I just bought acouple more... Morose_Angel> Ahh.. Morose_Angel> Wait, where did you buy them> fire_amigo> E-bay, and such. Stitch> are you the one that capped those cut forever red pics? fire_amigo> Stich >> Nope, wasn't me. Stitch> oh.. Stitch> is it the same thing, fire_amigo? fire_amigo> Hmmm -- in the dailies where Surpentara is, there is a green screen fire_amigo> I don't know if that helps Stitch> heh. it doesn't. Stitch> well, congrats on the find. fire_amigo> Stitch>> Those were more then likely taken from a 46min workprint of Forever Red fire_amigo> Stitch>> I know where you can get some yourself... fire_amigo> PM me if interested fire_amigo> There's a set avalible now( Not saying where ) that I already have. fire_amigo> Lots of the dailies seem to have disappeared when they gave them back to disney

CLFunaro: And when PR goes to Vancouver, who's gonna have to do it all over again? CLFunaro: (place your bets it's in two years) shyguy2468: Vancouver?!? CLFunaro: Disney had two studios for PR prepared in 2002. CLFunaro: One was Vancouver. The other was Auckland. CLFunaro: Both were largely unused at the time. CLFunaro: Auckland's contract goes up in two more years. SuperSamuraiStar: interesting CLFunaro: I say PR moves to Vancouver when Roadshow's contract goes up. CLFunaro: Interestingly, Kalish is BASED out of Vancouver. CLFunaro: (that's where Sentinel was shot, as well as Jett Jackson)
CLFunaro: Disney was spending more money on PR than Disney spends on any program. CLFunaro: So they halved the budget... Although some people claim third the budget... CLFunaro: And then you're left with Canada or New Zealand.
Juradic: Seriously, though, I'm a bit concerned with some of Tommy's behavior this year. "Don't make me destroy you, Trent?" What's that all about. I would've blamed it on his being stuck in morphed form for so long, but... Juradic: Eh, I'm just a fan. What do I know CLFunaro: Trent just played on all of their trusts. CLFunaro: He seemed irredeemably evil, and nearly killed them with the ATV Cycles. CLFunaro: If I was Tommy... i'd SERIOUSLY consider capping the kid. Juradic: All right, all right. But what about his part in the creation of Fossilador? I mean, c'mon CLFunaro: Fossilador makes perfect sense to me. CLFunaro: it so totally fits the new post-FR Tommy. CLFunaro: Okay, example. CLFunaro: Vile's villain party. CLFunaro: You have a MONSTER CONFERENCE. CLFunaro: Monsters from across the galaxy are showing up to plan an attack. CLFunaro: But -- you have a MIND CONTROL monster in your pocket. CLFunaro: You can send Fossilador up, get intelligence, possibly subvert some plans and sow seeds of chaos... CLFunaro: This is completely in character for the nu Tommy. CLFunaro: Tommy makes bad plans work. CLFunaro: Doug and I had long convos about Tommy last year CLFunaro: I think that's fully what he intended. CLFunaro: Doug seemed to have an appreciation for FR Tommy and how the character had evolved, grown, changed... CLFunaro: I believe this is the closest to what Doug probably intended. CLFunaro: I never asked, I figured it was self-evident. Juradic: I'll have to talk to him about it sometime... when he takes me out of his filter Juradic: (long story) CLFunaro: OMG FUYR IS NOT IN TONCIN TUITY CLFunaro: "Why isn't Tommy Zeo V anymore?" CLFunaro: "Why the hell was Tommy Zeo V again?!" CLFunaro: If FR didn't explain this shit, DT isn't beholden to either.
PlutoPOWER: WHAT IF TOMMY IS A CLONE!? CLFunaro: Way to cheat the entire season then. ;-) CLFunaro: ... CLFunaro: What if this IS Tom? CLFunaro: Who has had CENTURIES to learn? CLFunaro: And he just... Assumed Tommy's life? PlutoPOWER: And Mercer is using it to get the other gems.. CLFunaro: Holy shit. CLFunaro: I hate you, Will. CLFunaro: It actually could be Tom. CLFunaro: But Tom's had centuries... CLFunaro: Shit. CLFunaro: Hate you. SuperSamuraiStar: So clones don't age? CLFunaro: He's a magical clone. CLFunaro: I see no reason he would. CLFunaro: It would both cheapen and ruin this entire season. CLFunaro: And the narrative weight therein. CLFunaro: ... That's why I'm scared somebody might actually do it. I would. ;-)
CLFunaro: For the record, my version of ep five hundred did feature Gasket. CLFunaro: And it was EXCELLENT. SuperSamuraiStar: What was that about? CLFunaro: A brilliant done-in-one. CLFunaro: It only required two suits (possibly replicas). CLFunaro: Basically, Tommy dispatched the PRDT to outer space to stop a military buildup Gasket was causing. CLFunaro: (as they were new Rangers, their identities unknown by Evil Space Aliens) CLFunaro: Conner gets into the gladitorial games, ala King for a Day. CLFunaro: Kira plays slave girl hostess, and Ethan gets on an engineering crew assigned to a massive weapon. CLFunaro: This was contingent on the Dr. Payne PRDT, actually. CLFunaro: The messenger who sent them Tommy's instructions was, of course, the Titanium Ranger. CLFunaro: At the end, with the legions of alien warriors Gasket had imprisoned, Conner leads a revolt. CLFunaro: He throws his Thundermax across the arena, pinning Gasket to a wall by his scarf as the planet explodes. CLFunaro: At the end, as their freighter gets into Earth orbit, one of the warriors comments that he's amazed he's never heard of this team before. CLFunaro: Truly these are worthy successors to the Power Rangers legacy. CLFunaro: Group laugh, executive producers. CLFunaro: Now TELL ME that is not a badass ep.
CLFunaro: I think I need to make a note -- tiles in the oven make pizzas better. PlutoPOWER: We have one of those baking stones. PlutoPOWER: Theya makina great pizza! CLFunaro: I'm here to toss your salad! CLFunaro: That is the sickest fucking line ever. CLFunaro: they HAD to know.
RedCrystalRanger: Is GeNeRaL MCkNiGhT cOneR'S dAd?//?/ CLFunaro: Grandfather. CLFunaro: Damn, I should have asked a favor of Doug and had that in the finale. CLFunaro: Damn my morals.
CLFunaro: WF has this immense backstory. CLFunaro: A bible that's nearly a hundred pages long. CLFunaro: one percent of it, maybe, got on the air. CLFunaro: And like... This is vital information. CLFunaro: In some cases the POINTS OF EPISODES. SuperSamuraiStar: Too bad we didn't get to learn about more of it. CLFunaro: I pray one day the gag order goes up? CLFunaro: That bible SHOULD be released. SuperSamuraiStar: What's the gag order? CLFunaro: No talking to fans, blah blah... CLFunaro: They came down hard on MMPR Prod. CLFunaro: Apparently in a way they didn't on Roadshow. CLFunaro: (fear of dissention?) CLFunaro: And narratively a bad thing. CLFunaro: What was a b-or-c plot, character-wise, is now maintext. CLFunaro: This is Power Rangers, not Team Carnival. CLFunaro: Just like Time Force is not titled Silver Guardians.
RedCrystalRanger: I really don't understand why fans hate WF. RedCrystalRanger: I thought it was fun. CLFunaro: It was an "aim low shoot high" season. CLFunaro: WF tried less, so it failed less. CLFunaro: WF and NS have a lot in common in that respect. RedCrystalRanger: Tried less...? CLFunaro: Okay, look at Time Force. Held it as a pinnacle of PR for having a great cast, a lot of individually great eps... CLFunaro: Hangs together poorly, you agree? JulietteStreet01: I think one of the things I enjoyed was Shayla's song RedCrystalRanger: I actually enjoyed that song RedCrystalRanger: Did Amit really apolgize for that song? CLFunaro: Yes. CLFunaro: Bergen was fired for that episode. RedCrystalRanger: Seriously? CLFunaro: Yes. RedCrystalRanger: How? I mean, what, did they get complaints? CLFunaro: Well, or forced to quit. SuperSamuraiStar: It wasn't really that bad. RedCrystalRanger: Who is Bergen? :-P CLFunaro: Bergen Williams, original co-SE of WF. RedCrystalRanger: Pardon the ignorance--what does SE stand for? CLFunaro: Story editor. RedCrystalRanger: Can you sum this long story up? It baffles me how they could fire someone over the episode.. CLFunaro: I don't know the whole story! CLFunaro: And I'm leery of divulging details on things i don't know everything on! CLFunaro: Do you know what happened the last time I did that? CLFunaro: Because of me, for six whole weeks Turbo-WF weren't in continuity!
------------------------- RangerBoard post: Dan_Conway ------------------------- I was browsing the past thread a few days ago and I came across a post by Cmdr Crayfish. I have tried to re-locate the post in question but with no such luck.
The basis of the post was that during Forever Red (I do apologise, but this thread has little to do with this episode) when Jason gets off his motorcycle and meets the team, Jason says "I recognise some of you guys, some more then others..."
Now the post that Cmdr Crayfish made was that at the point he said "...some more then others" he gives a possible look of recognision to Wes and Eric, meaning that he had met them before. I had always had the opinion that he had looked at TJ, then Wes and Eric and did'nt recognise them at all, hence the "...some more then others comment" implying that he had no previous experience with the two, but took their position of being Rangers all the same.
Now, I could be way off but I'm sure that no point during the Time Force season, was any mention given to Jason or the original team. Is there any evidence to suggest that Jason and the Silver Gaurdians had in fact before or do you think that it is simply a case of mis-reading the scene a little?
What do you think?
------------------------- RangerBoard post: Cmdr Crayfish ------------------------- We were expressly intended to read Jason's body language as indicative of a past relationship. This backstory even had to be explained to Austin, who had no idea why he was reacting this way to guys he had never met. Amit cannot legally mention fanfiction, so I have no idea who began that mistaken impression.
Amit implied Jason knew Wes and Eric. Rob, in writing FR:TN, made mention of a PRTF/MMPR teamup to explain it. I thought it was cute SOMEBODY bothered to touch on Jason's clear indication. It's no different from every Ranger there other than Cole knowing TJ's Mad Mike story. These people hang out when we aren't watching. They have lives. They do things. -------------------------
SuperSamuraiStar: So what was this past history between Jason and the Silver Guardians? CLFunaro: They had a past adventure. SuperSamuraiStar: Do you know what it was? CLFunaro: Not specifics, no. SuperSamuraiStar: ah CLFunaro: Amit was very ambiguous and Bob Skir.
SuperSamuraiStar: I wonder how many people are going to hear the name and think they said "Power Rangers STD" CLFunaro: It's the Power Promise you'll notice thye never gave. CLFunaro: "Kids, when you're having anonymous, promiscuous sex in bus terminals..." CLFunaro: "I Power Promise to pay anamony and child support." CLFunaro: "Well, you're doing better than Tommy is." CLFunaro: * group laugh, executive producers *
CLFunaro: Oy, CLF can't watch Movie Madness. CLFunaro: It's not that I don't like the performances or anything? CLFunaro: "We didn't get the Lost in Time saga... For this." CLFunaro: "A great MMPR-esque ep that even the fucking CREDITS deceives us into thinking is about time travel."
CLFunaro: The DT ads are always, always deceptive. SuperSamuraiStar: yeah, the previews are confusing sometimes. SuperSamuraiStar: Fighting Spirit wasn't really anything like the previews implied. SuperSamuraiStar: At least, it was hardly the main focus of the episode. CLFunaro: I wonder what it was like for Doug. CLFunaro: They kept all the leaks plugged, even Disney played along.. CLFunaro: And some fucking stunt man breaks the news. CLFunaro: If we didn't know? we'd have DIED.
SyurikenImpy: Anybody else hate the title of the next episode? Moons Knight 04: meeee Moons Knight 04: it looks like another "break from the action" SyurikenImpy: Like in Wild Force when they decided to use all the Gaoranger monsters except Copy ORg CLFunaro: They didn't use Clock org CLFunaro: Or Volcano org CLFunaro: Or Invisib Org SyurikenImpy: Invisib Org was used...but we couldn't see him SyurikenImpy: He was in every episode CLFunaro: He had an unused origin, he never debuted. CLFunaro: ... I can't believe I'm having this debate SloopsJohnG: I can CLFunaro: But man, what a great Fun Fact. CLFunaro: "There are seven Org Generals." SyurikenImpy: Toxica: Then why do I see three? SyurikenImpy: Master Org: SHUT UP!
SloopsJohnG: So, in an episode title, it's Kyra, right? SloopsJohnG: then there's Ethen and Tomy CLFunaro: Tomy is canonical. ;-) SuperSamuraiStar: wha-? CLFunaro: "Tomy is a legendary warrior from the past!" SuperSamuraiStar: where was that? CLFunaro: TV Magazine's article on DT. SuperSamuraiStar: heh, figures CLFunaro: Toei says it's Tomy! Like the kiddie toys! Juradic: "From Tomy!"
Nega Ledger: Last time they said why not, 10 Red Rangers fought Beetle Borgs. CLFunaro: No, if they'd stuck to the original why not we'd have gotten new suits for the ME generals. ;-) CLFunaro: For the record, my only complaint is Gerrok. CLFunaro: It's too plainly somebody. CLFunaro: None of the others, even Venjix, are THAT beetle-y. SuperSamuraiStar: Wasn't it originally supposed to be an alien race trying to bring back Dark Specter? CLFunaro: And really, Shadowborg was just... CLFunaro: Well, Koichi wanted Machine Empire. CLFunaro: So yeah, first ADDENDUM to Amit's "why not." SuperSamuraiStar: ah CLFunaro: For the record, I agree with Koichi. DS is just too stunt-y. CLFunaro: The point of Space was that no team of mere Rangers could kill DS. CLFunaro: Even ten Reds? CLFunaro: That seems cheap to me. SuperSamuraiStar: I heard that they found the Beetleborg suits and told them to write something about robots. SuperSamuraiStar: but they didn't have any idea what they were CLFunaro: Koichi said that, yes. CLFunaro: "Here, we have these robot suits in storage. Use them." CLFunaro: Amit's words to me, swear to god, when I saw the pics... CLFunaro: "How much touch up work did those Beetleborgs suits need?" CLFunaro: "Those suits were from BEETLEBORGS?!" CLFunaro: Like the final piece clicked into place. SuperSamuraiStar: that's funny SuperSamuraiStar: i recognized them instantly CLFunaro: I know, everyone did!
SuperSamuraiStar: Any chance he'll [Chip Lynn] be interested in rejoining the writing staff? CLFunaro: He's making tons of money as a carpenter. CLFunaro: Depends on the market, I guess.
CLFunaro: Here's how I see it. CLFunaro: Tommy had his years and years of dominating the franchise. CLFunaro: Now he's back, and he's cooler than before, but he's also more of a team player. CLFunaro: I respect the RESTRAINT in not using him so much. CLFunaro: Thing is -- CLFunaro: Tommy will be back in three years for the fifteenth anniversary. CLFunaro: And in five after that for the twentieth, etc. CLFunaro: We can't blow our Tommy load NOW. SuperSamuraiStar: He will? CLFunaro: Dude -- JDF will keep coming back forever now. CLFunaro: The dude needs work. CLFunaro: He's desperate. CLFunaro: And Disney clearly will shill. Nega Ledger: Doesn't he make more money off of his dojos? CLFunaro: He makes so much off his dojos he was lobbing for work from PR for two years solid before the Roadshow transfer. ;-) CLFunaro: Tommy will be back, and I think it's planning for the future. CLFunaro: Which I greatly respect.
CLFunaro: People think it's this huge thing Master Org died. CLFunaro: The only reason they got away with that was a network change. CLFunaro: The ONLY REASON. CLFunaro: Fox had the reveal he was a human, ABC killed him. CLFunaro: They didn't consult with each other, the dialogue aside. CLFunaro: Censors are weird.

From "Power Rangers Quotes & Trivia":
In the Red Ranger reunion episode, "Forever Red," there were several things planned that didn't make it. (1) Katherine (Catherine Sutherland) was going to make an appearance, as Tommy's wife. (2) Eric and Wes were going to contact Trip (Kevin Kleinberg) in the year 3000 to see if their fight against the Machine Empire changes anything in the timeline. (3) A scene between Tommy and Alpha 7 on the Megaship was cut. (4) Leo, the Red Galaxy Ranger, was originally going to be killed off. (5) Instead of simply having Cole use the Wild Rider to destroy Serpentera, each Red Ranger was going to summon one of their Zords for the battle.
Lord Zedd is Jewish. During his wedding to Rita in Season 2's "The Wedding: Part 3," he wore a yarmulke, he did the traditional breaking of a glass to commemorate the destruction of the Temple, and the song "Hava Nagila" was played.
The original names for Goldar, Squatt, and Baboo were Dredwing, Grock, and Mongo.

CLFunaro: And Countdown is an unfitting end to Space with the third part gone. CLFunaro: Seriously, watch it. CLFunaro: It's a disjointed mess. Oo7reebokoo7: seriusly ur wrong Oo7reebokoo7: iv watched it so many times CLFunaro: We bounce from scene to scene with no sense of time or placement. CLFunaro: Great, then tell me about how Zhane knows the rebels survived with the surrender scene cut. CLFunaro: Fighting Elgar's scouting party. CLFunaro: WHERE the Megaship goes when it's fired on. CLFunaro: IT WAS A THREE PARTER! CLFunaro: WRITTEN AND FILMED AS SUCH! CLFunaro: Edited in post, badly. CLFunaro: Imagine doing Journey's End in two parts in post. CLFunaro: Jesus Christ, Countdown NEEDED the cut stuff.
CLFunaro: People fail to grasp the living hell this staff went through to get us JDF for two thirds of a year. CLFunaro: No suits or props. CLFunaro: So they had to beg replacements off Toei. CLFunaro: Do you grasp this? CLFunaro: Toei was so pissed ten years of suits were destroyed THEY ONLY LEASE the monster suits now. CLFunaro: How Jackie bought three Ranger suits is beyond me. CLFunaro: Saban bought the suits and stored them, lovingly, in two multi-story warehouses in Van Nuys CLFunaro: Prime real estate. Halliwell1998: So why would Toei be mad? CLFunaro: Because it's their show too. CLFunaro: Toei has input in PR. CLFunaro: Every ep, all the major actions, they sign off on. CLFunaro: From what I gather... CLFunaro: Disney destroying the props wasn't Toei-sanctioned. CLFunaro: They just did it. CLFunaro: Not real endearing, is it? CLFunaro: Disney doesn't love us. Disney can't love us, not like Saban did. Oo7reebokoo7: so then the turbo suits still exist or no? CLFunaro: Individuals IN Disney can love us -- but this is business, kids. CLFunaro: If somebody bought them at auction, maybe. CLFunaro: Otherwise -- landfill!
CLFunaro: Disney hates teamups. CLFunaro: The only reason we got this one is because Doug lobbied incessantly for it. CLFunaro: We only have one old-school EP anymore. CLFunaro: He's outnumbered by three. CLFunaro: I have no idea what Bruce will think of the idea, or this Sally gal.
CLFunaro: What's really interesting? CLFunaro: The WG timeline entries are all fakafkaed for WF. CLFunaro: The last scene of Master's Last Stand takes place AFTER Unfinished Business, and about four minutes before the FIRST scene of Homecoming. Juradic: ... come again? CLFunaro: The last scene of Last Stand is the powerless Adler returning to the Nexus. CLFunaro: He barely beats the Dukes and Mandilok there. CLFunaro: Mandilok kills Adler. CLFunaro: Homecoming opens with Mandilok arriving inside the Nexus and the Dukes briefing him. CLFunaro: Unfinished Business happens between scenes in this ep. navythunderrngr: *head spins* CLFunaro: I have to write the WF timeline entries. CLFunaro: Pity me.
CLFunaro: Oh, and exciting news. CLFunaro: Thanks to the DT finale, I now have in-continuity proof for why there was no WF/NS teamup. CLFunaro: Because Ninja Storm and Wild Force partially overlap. CLFunaro: Dino Thunder canonically begins in Fall 2003 and ends Spring 2004. CLFunaro: As NS was a few months (at least) prior to DT beginning... CLFunaro: I think I can firmly say that Lothor arrived just after Venjix. CLFunaro: It depends how much missing time we can stuff between FR and Herald. CLFunaro: I say maybe a month. CLFunaro: Like -- five months occur between eps in DT. CLFunaro: And in that time they've fought Zeltrax enough it's no longer a surprise when he's back. CLFunaro: (as the last time WE saw him, he was fucking DISSOLVING) CLFunaro: It means that the opening on the island is conclusively pre-FR. CLFunaro: Possibly even why Tommy took his Zeonizer back for a time.
Kaze TheDarkWind: He [Ron Wasserman] said that he asked them for equal billing with the writers and they said no and he just snapped one day and walked out and never went back.
Ron Wasserman: "As for your idea on making a new [Power Rangers] CD unfortunately I can not touch that stuff. I'd have to do agreements with the Saban folks to license the material and they'd still own a majority of it even if I was to add content, recut etc... They would also administer everything so, as I've been going through a bunch of crap with them on a PR CD they released 2-2003, I'd be at their mercy for budgets, payments etc. Again a total mess."
CLFunaro -- "Countdown [To Destruction] and Fate [Of Lightspeed] had enormous scripts. The original drafts contained enough material to create three parts as needed. Do you people not get this? It's not like there's material post KO-35. The cut material is in the MIDDLE. The rebels surrendering, the fight between Zhane and Elgar, etc. From what I recall being told, the material from Fate of Lightspeed was mostly with Carter and Ryan in the Skull Cavern."

Juradic: Of course, that idea was scrapped. Juradic: And Fielding had already moved on at that point. (His last ep as Zordon was Doomsday) Juradic: But they continued to use his face up through...
